Purple Baseball cap

ok I know i am still pretty new, but all of the sudden i am seeing tons of ppl with a purple baseball hat, I asked and someone said it was from a quest. When was this, and does anyone have an extra for trade?

It was like May or June maybe? Baseball Month. You will have to try the trades board, they seem to be very popular and go high. because they were in game quest (not a simple one either) you were supposed to only get one. Many get a few extra but again this was a dificult quest, each uniform part was a whole quest. They were each 40 tasks and most required 20 K in Jungle cruise 50K -75K in Fireworks and big 1000 point win in pirates I think the Hat also required 25 ghosts in the mansion. so by the end of the weekend we were wore out.

hey bird! Yes, it was from a quest back in the summer, when we had baseball month.

It's really a cross between a red and a purple, so it became known as rurple. I don't remember if I have an extra or not, but there are several ppl here who had extras. You may want to open a post on the trade and wishes thread, if the mods don't move this post over there first!

Yes. It was a very difficult quest for the hat.
In fact, it was the Friday quest, so more people had less time to complete it multiple times. It was also the most difficult of the three quests for the costume.

You are more likely to find the shirt and pants than the hat.

I don't have an extra because I spent most of my day at work and have already traded away what few extras I managed to get.

That's right, 50 ghosts were required to earn a "rurple" baseball hat. It was absolutely the hardest quest in vmk for a basic item. (At least the car quest, we can all manage to earn a pink car - even if never a green.)

Add to it the insanity of 50 ghosts - that this was when the DC Monster was alive and well, meaning you could be 3/4 of the way through a ghost game and - whoosh! And then - back to ghosts again.

Mansion being a difficult game for me, I honestly spent over 4 hours trying to get those ghosts, had at least 6 different people help my by playing against me, and ultimately BARELY made it.

The only other baseball cap that was available during that time was the blue baseball cap which was ONLY sold to boys. So, if girls wanted a baseball cap, "rurple" was their only chance.

For me, this is why I will only consider amazing offers for the rurple hat. It may be the same for others.

On a last niote, I would like to close on a positive: Two good things did come out of this quest: 1) Jegrezo has a purple hat - and we ALL know how I love my purple! 2) Through a very weird set of events resulting from my expressing utter and complete frustration with a quest being SOO difficult for a simple hat, I met a fellow player who grew to be one of my closest vmk friends, as well as a RL Friend.

Hope I helped explain a bit why this hat is so difficult to obtain in trades. It truly has many ppl's energy and tears in it.

Ah, right the shoes were 25 ghosts. I some how did not save the hat quest. I do remember you had a great deal of trouble wiith that quest DD. I am glad you finally got the Hat. If time in VMK is any lesson, it is entirely possible they will revive the quest come spring when baseball season starts. I Give you that in case you don't want to trade everything for the hat.

You had to get 50,000 in fireworks, 20,000 in jungle cruise, play pirates (but you didn't have to win thank goodness!), and get 50 ghosties in mansion.
