Anyone have hopes that Disney will offer free dining again next summer? I have my fingers crossed since they already offered free dining to U.K. citizens for 2007...

Free dining was so great!

I read about the UK being offered free dining the day I got back from my free dining stay, and have had my dates and fingers crossed since then!

For the past couple of years Disney has offered free dining for part of Aug/Sept so I booked for that time hoping that it will be offered again.

I am also hoping for the free dining. I have never stayed onsite so Im really looking forward to it! Would it be better to book before hand and then just modify your ressie when the free dining comes up???Can you do that?

Curious about this as well. Also, are the family suites at ASmu participating ??

What day did free dining start this year ???

Wasnt it August 15th? Im not sure - someone who went please chime in... :confused3

It started Aug 13. I would assume that if they were to have it next year it would start on Aug 12

I believe it started on August 13, a week before value season.

2007 dates (for UK visitors so far :wizard:)are August 12,2007- September 29, 2007. A week after the 2007 value season starts.

I have my fingers crossed for free dining. :cheer2: :cloud9:

Last year (2005), free dining started a week later. It began like the day we came home, I think. 8/20 maybe. 2006 it started 8/13. If they do it again in 2007, I would not bet on it starting in mid-August again. But one can hope...and sell sell sell on Ebay, lol.

While nobody knows until things are announced, IMHO it is pretty slim. June is a busy time with generally good weather and the southern school out for the season. The free dining has been offered once the majority of schools (except us Northerners) are back in session and during hurricaine season

None.

Free dining is offered to fill resorts....Disney has no problem filling resorts in June as we saw this summer when the resorts were overbooked and they started calling folks and asking them to rearrange their trips to another time. In addition, June and July are now so popular that starting in 2007, Disney will be charging a higher rate than regular rate to stay at their value and moderate resorts.

Free dining was soooooo awesome. I did it two years in a row. It serves two purposes - it gets people there during hurricane season and it promotes a product that people may pay for in the future. Which is exactly what I am doing ths November. :thumbsup2

I expect Disney will run some type of promotion during hurricane season, it just might not be free dining. I think they may have pushed the envelope with it this time. It got harder and harder to get ADR's and modifications had to be made to the plan because of decreased availability of TS bookings.

Has free dining had a big impact on crowds?

We're looking at a trip next year and I'm thinking either September or first week of December.

I'd love to get free dining, but I wouldn't want to be there in August or September.. too hot! I hope they extend the offer into other low-occupancy months.

I was at POFQ on August 16 and the free dining had already begun. (I'm not sure when) I am counting on it next year! No one though we would have it again in 06 but we did. Here's hoping! It's awesome. As far as the sun and heat in August? After we got back to NY on the 25 we had no sun and I sure missed it! ;)

We just got back from the free dining (9/13-18) I could not believe how uncrowded it was. We virtually had no waits on anything. FP weren't even worth getting. Neither were baby swaps. The longest line we encountered was the Great Movie ride (20 mins) and that's cause it broke down, twice. I did see alot of restaurants with big crowds, especially Le Cellier.
I'm really hoping for free dining next year mid-Aug thru Sept. Everyone cross your fingers!
