Are wdw tickets disounted if purchased in advance instead of at the gate?

Not to my knowledge. You can buy in advance from a ticket brocker like undercovertourist.com for a discount. I have used them twice and they provide a really nice service. AAA provides some ticket options also with a discount.

yes, WDW tickets are cheaper if you purchase them online at Disney.com or at the Disney store. Gate ticket prices are higher.

But you can find even more discounted tickets through Undercovertourist.com, TicketMania etc.

Sign up for the mousesavers.com newsletter.....every month on the 15th they send out a newsletter with special discounted links to a ticket broker (usually undercovertourist) with even cheaper prices only for maousesavers newsletter recipients.

I bought my tickets through undercover tourist with the mousesavers link last month. They dont charge shipping and tax is included in the price. What I liked best about this company is that they send the tickets in a clear plastic sheet with the backs facing out so you can read what kind of tickets you got. If you dont open the bag you can return them if you need to. To my knowledge they are one of the only companies with a return policy for theme park tickets. I may be wrong but I did not notice this on other sites. They also send their tickets certified mail so you have to sign for them. Shipping was very fast as I got my tickets in about a weeks time. I bought 7 tickets for my family and saved a bit over 70.00 compared to buying direct from Disney. Also disney charges for shipping.
