Purchasing tickets at SOG

Dh is active duty but we've elected NOT to stay at SOG. We have a reservation elsewhere. However, can we purchase our park tickets at SOG with his ID card as proof of service, or can only SOG guests buy their tickets at the resort? Just curious as our travel agency on post only sells the 4 day Park Hopper tickets and we'd rather get a 5 day pass, but want to get them at a military discount. Help!

I know for a fact that you can buy your tickets at SOG. I'm not sure, however, if you can purchase them if you are not staying at a WDW resort. We are DVC members and always stay in our villas, but go over to SOG for our tickets. You can always call SOG to find out the details and requirements to purchase.

You can buy them at SoG regardless of where you are staying, as long as you have your military or eligible DoD ID.

My Mom has her military ID(she's a widow Dad was a retired Air Force officer) We already have tickets left from a previous visit but she doesn't have any. Can she get her tickets at SOG? Is there a significant discount or would we do just as well to advance purchase them from Disney? I know she has taken us to dinner at SOG on a previous trip so I think she should qualify.

We went this past May and stayed offsite with another family. The other husband is Air Force. We went over to SOG two separate times to buy Hopper tickets and IOA tickets. As long as someone in the party has an ID then tickets can be purchased there.

One good thing is the tickets are not only cheaper but no sales tax on them too. I htink Stars and stripes lenght of stay passes you need to be on a disney hotel but the hoppers anyone can get with a valid ID

Hey Barbday62 - saying hi to you from Marysville :D

But my question is, we have bought tickets at SOG in the past, but only for immediate family, next year we are bringing friends (we are paying for both our rooms at SOG). We shouldn't have any problem buying their tickets, should we? (they aren't military). Also, is there a limit on the number of tickets you can buy?

My family have bought them ( and paid seperately) while staying with my father(our sponsor) without any problem. We have even bought AP's at SOG.

Hi heidica, Small world, We bought the tickets for our grown kids, and son in law last August. I have heard of others letting the other party pay as long as the sponser is there.

Unless your getting Starts and Stripes passes defintly chek the MWR at the Everett base. We got a pretty good deal on hoppers back in 2000. This past trip we got Stars and Stripes. It takes ther Everett Base about a week to get the passes so you will make two trips. One to pay and buy and the second to pick up. Its pretty easy. The MWR is right by the new pool on base.

Barbday62 - Good to know. I have bought Disneyland tickets at the Everett MWR, but never for WDW. I will have to look into that.
