So, I have rented a DVC for the VWL from a DVC member and I know that I will be paying for my dining plan when I check in - however, I have a question... according to WDW website it says this about the dining plan:

Magic Your Way Package with Deluxe Dining Plan for 2008

Available only with vacation packages that include accommodations at a Disney-owned-and-operated hotel plus at least a 1-day theme park ticket per person, Disney’s Magic Your Way Package with the Deluxe Dining Plan is a convenient way to experience many of the unique Disney dining locations found across the Walt Disney World Resort. The additional cost is $69.99 per night per adult or junior (ages 10-17), $19.99 per night for children (ages 3-9).

I am more concerned with this phrase - Available only with vacation packages that include accommodations at a Disney-owned-and-operated hotel plus at least a 1-day theme park ticket per person

I am not purchasing a package through WDW - I was going to buy my tickets through someone like undercovertourist.com or something like that.... can I still get the dining plan? Or do I HAVE to purchase one ticket through Disney?

Thanks!

The DVC version of the dining plan does not require you to purchase park admission through Disney, you may get your park tickets anywhere. Other than that, the plans are identical.

That verbage is not intended for those staying on points. If you are staying on points then you can buy the plan without buying a package/tickets. You need to make sure the owner you are renting from has noted on the reservation that you want to purchase the Deluxe Dining Plan- then you pay for it at check-in.

Thanks so much... Glad to hear that...

And yes - I will make sure they know we want the DELUXE Dining Plan... figured why not eat our way through Disney at Christmas - since I am sure it will be too crowded to get much more then 2-3 things done a day - :)

Exactly....make sure the person who is renting you the points put the
deluxe ddp on your reservation....
This needs to be done at least a few days before arrival.
