I am thinking about purchasing 5000 Southwest Points to cover the deficit in my rapid rewards points. How long does it take to be posted in my account? Is it instant?

Yes. I bought 3,000 a few weeks ago to cover a flight and I was able to buy the flight within a few minutes

I purchased 5000 points the other day with the 50% bonus sale. I got nervous when I read the small print that it could take up to 72 hours to credit to your account and I was planning to use the points to buy our SW flights that were released yesterday! I was very happy when they posted instantly!
