Will Disney take credit card payments for direct point purchases?

Yes they will, if you use the Disney Visa you get 6 months no interest.

Yes. I paid 10% when I signed. Then paid 2 payments before closing - to keep the payments under my credit limits.

Yes we did. And the card we use was giving us double miles for “vacations”. They considered DVC purchase a vacation. But check with your CC company for purchase limits. We had the $$ put aside for the purchase (some savings and profits from selling two of our otherDVC contracts) so we were able to pay off the balance without incurring interest fees.

I’ve got the money ready too and as an international buyer I’d rather use my Visa card to pay instead of a bank transfer as it’ll insure less charges and fees. Hopefully this be an option when I come to pay. Thanks for all the advice.

I bought ours on a credit card and we are in the UK.

We were already getting a new cc, the Chase Freedom card, because it gives 1.5% rewards on all purchases. It also offered 15 months at 0% on all purchases as a sign-up bonus. Needless to say, spreading it out over 15 months versus paying it all at once was an easy decision. We also could’ve paid for it up front, but there was no reason to at 0% APR for over a year. :)

Chase sapphire reserve gets you 3x points for DVC since it codes as travel. And if you use points to redeem for travel, you get a 50% bonus in value, so DVC on chase sapphire reserve is a pretty good option.
