Our 18 year old DD will be traveling to WDW using our DVC without us. She still lives with us (college student) and I would like to purchase her a discount AP. Is there a way for me to purchase this for her even though I won't be with her to pick up the pass? I know that I normally need to show my ID card to pick up a ticket with discount. I will be traveling without her before her trip so I can I pick it up without her? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

You need to call Member Services before she leaves. They can put a note in the system and give you a file number which she will need to give to the CM at WDW. If the MS CM says it can't be done, ask for a supervisor (or call back later).

As for you getting it for her on your trip, most likely not.

My two children (16 and 19) did this this past summer travelling with their father rather than me. In our case, their father had already purchased them park hoppers which they were able to upgrade to platinum plus AP's on their first day at the discounted DVC rate. In order to do this they had the following items with them and presented them at the guest services window:

My blue DVC ID card
A photocopy of my drivers license
Both their IDs showing same last name and address

As for purchasing the pass ahead of time, that should be able to be done online and linked to her MDE account (assuming she is in your friends and family), allowing her to book fastpasses at 60 days from check in. She will however still need to have her AP processed or activated at guest services when she arrives before entering the park.
