Purchasing genie+

This same thing happened to me as well. I already had two 6 day park hopper tickets and when I went in to add the Genie+ to the tickets, it charged me a $195.56 plus $12.70 tax. The $195.56 should have only been $180 ($15 X 6 days X 2 tickets). It came out to $16.30 per ticket per day. Not cool Disney.

The weeks leading up to this trip feel a lot different than the previous trips. I’m definitely not looking forward to it as much.

Convenience and not having potential payment / authentication code issues on the morning of I guess. I upgraded tickets in the UK - fortunately the total upgrade cost was less than adding Genie+ daily, but I had to change from 'last year's' ticket type to this year's which included G+ and pay the difference. Essentially it was as if I'd never bought tickets and then the money was used against this year's ticket type.

Or Disney could just fix your damn system so there weren’t payment authentication issues.

Updated the language in the Disney app.
“You can make changes to your tickets, prior to
midnight ET of the day before your ticket's first
valid use date. After your first valid ticket date,
you can use the app to add additional days to an
eligible ticket or add ticket options. An additional
cost applies to change your dates to dates with
higher ticket prices. In addition, when you modify
your ticket to purchase an option, including Disney
Genie+ service, you will need to pay the price of
the option plus any changes to the price of the
ticket since your original purchase. No refund or
credit is given for changes from dates with higher
prices to dates with lower prices. Tickets are
nonrefundable, nontransferable and must be used
by the same person on all days.”
