I was looking at pre purchasing an extra bag for our return flight in advance on the BA website. However I am slightly unsure as to how this works for us.

Our flight is in 2 segments (all with BA on one booking) from MCO-LGW-EDI

If I purchase an extra bag, it gives me the option to do so for the short domestic section of the trip as well. So I have to pay twice? Is that right?

I found this..

its not from BA web site but sounds logical to me.:)

Thank you for that Vanda.

I had in fact assumed without questioning it, that you paid once, purely based on the logic that the luggage allowance is constant provided the flights are on a single booking reference. However when I went in to my booking to look at adding a bag, it gives me the option to add it to the MCO - LGW flight and then again to the LGW- EDI part of the journey. I would have rang them but I do not ring 09 numbers unless my life (literally) is going to depend on it. By the end of a call the phone charges incurred would have probably about paid for me to pay twice. They are not very accessible if you want to ask them something!
