Purchasing DW Tickets outside of package

Has anyone purchased tickets from an outside company and added them to magic bands? What are the perks of doing the full package through Disney instead of splitting it up? We still plan on staying on site but my husbands company offers a 7 day PH for the Base 4 day price. We will only be there for 5 full days but I think the PH savings would make it worth it. We have magic bands from our last trip anyway so I'm ok with just using them if necessary to add our park tickets in advance. Thanks!!

I forgot to mention that while our family will only be on site for 5 days, I will be at a conference very close to Orlando for a few days before so it wouldn't be a big deal about the extra days (and would be kind of nice for a mommy evening after the conference).

There can be a perk if there is a offer like free dining. That deal requires you to book the rack rate and tickets to get the free dining plan.

However if you can get a good deal elsewhere on tickets and get a room discount on a room only booking it may be a better deal.

You have to do your Mickey math and see which is a better deal for your family with the offers there are during your vacation.

So not really a set yes or no answer.

I just purchased from Undercover Tourist, and they linked fine to MDE. I haven't actually used the tickets at the park yet though. Depending upon the number of days you need, they sometimes throw in a free day. I have used them previously too, before MBs.

We usually do an RO and buy tickets from UT. I don't care for the dining plan, so this works best for us.

We usually get them from UC too. We've only recently stopped using the dining plan because it ended up being cheaper for us without it, but, we used to book a package and just purchase one day at the park (since you have to couple the package with tickets), and then we would purchase our other tickets from UC. Never had a problem, even with the new magic bands.

How did the fast passes work? Did you just order your tickets extra early and attach them to the MB when you got them?

It's been a long time since we've done a package, so I get our tickets separately from our room reservation all of the time. I even did it during MB testing last fall without a problem.

If you want to make your FP+ selections as early as possible, then you should order your tickets allowing plenty of time for them to arrive at your home and iron out any possible glitches with Disney and/or the ticket seller. If you're staying onsite, then you can book your FP+ beginning 60 days prior to your arrival. Offsite customers have to wait until 30 days. I would give myself an additional 2 weeks for tickets to ship and just in case there's a problem linking to MDE.

I personally can do better ala cart than pkg. wise. I have a love/hate relationship w dining plan. 98% of time at least one of travel party has AP. WE have used UCT multiple times and linked without issue to MB. I actually had more issues w AP linking than I've had with UCT tickets

We bought our tix through Undercover Tourist but booked a ticketless package through Disney for the room and Dining Plan. We get the perks included in the package (mini golf and DQ vouchers) but at a slight discount since I upgraded to package from a room only discount reservation. You do have to call CRO to book a ticketless package since you cannot do this online.

You have to call to book a ticketless package. Basically, it means you can pay Disney for a dining plan without buying your tickets from them. Up until six months ago, you could only buy the dining plan if you also bought tickets.
