Purchasing DDP for Trip on Rented Points

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm a DVC newb!

I rented points for our upcoming trip to BWV, but because some nights were available with Boardwalk View and som weren't, we currently have more than one reservation under our name. In theory, could I buy the DDP for just the first reservation but not the second?

Yes, but the owner of the points has to book and pay for the DDP.
