Purchasing airline tickets

Sorry, double post-- here and the Budget forum.

I know I'm getting way ahead of myself; we aren't going to Disney till August 2012.

But I know that airline ticket prices fluctuate widely. When is the best time to buy them?

In the past I've bought in January for August travel, and been happy with the prices I've gotten. But is there a particular day/time when prices tend to be lower?

Also, we've been happy in the past traveling Wednesday to Wednesday. As teachers going in August, we have lots of flexibility-- is there a reason you would suggest changing our planning?

Even legacy airlines don't open up tickets sales until a year out, so you have some time to wait. There are many, many threads already here and on the internet about the best time to buy tickets; try a search and you'll get some good information.
