Purchased points not showing after cancellation of reservation

We purchased 18 points to book a reservation that we needed to cancel. The trip is in 64 days. I cancelled the trip and dont see the purchased points on my dashboard. Why is this? How can I reuse these points if I cant see them?

If you are talking about one-time-use-points, they do not show up in your online account. They still exist but you must call MS to make a reservation that uses them.

OTU points never show online. You have to call MS to reuse them. They expire at the end of your use year.

Adding on another related question: If you have a reservation using OTU points, can you waitlist at another resort for a room that uses the same number of points? Seems like that might not work if you have to call member services to use them, but wasn't sure.

Yes, you can. When/If there is a waitlist match, a CM actually completes the process.

Thank everyone. Can MS reallocate the points? Meaning if I have a trip booked, can they go in and use the OTU points and put the others back in the UY it came from?

I had a total of 90 points coming back where I can only see 72. I understand I can not see the 18 OTU ones. I then booked a stay a month later with the 72 points (using 40 of them). Can MS go in and apply the 18 OUY points and "give me back" 18 so that I can see and use them if I see something online?

Yes. I did this just recently. As long as the stay was booked 7 months or less.
