Well going back and forth for a while and thinking about it since March when sales shut down I ended up moving forward with direct points at CCV. I sold my 2 smaller BWV contracts I had purchased in the fall for a wash (but stripped the contracts) to set this up.

I ended up doing:
Fixed Week 49 - Studio - 118 Points
37 Additional Points

Based on the extra incentives by getting to 150 points it was $124.03/point for the extra 37 points inclusive of all closing costs which was a no brainer since I can afford it and always just sell that smaller contract off if we find we really don't need the points.

As a heads up there was no September Use Year Points currently but we ended up putting this in line with our current UY that we have for our BWV contract anyways.

We may or may not use the fixed week but figured it was a good long term benefit to have the point totals locked in for when the kids get to high school or college.

Curious what week is week 49?

Should be the week after the week after Thanksgiving.
That's Week 48 most years (47 in the few years Thanksgiving falls in week 46). In 2020, it is December 6-13.

We seriously debated getting Week 52, which is always New Years Eve and Sometimes Christmas, too. It is 168 points at CCV Guaranteed, and in 2021 that is likely 170 points (I say likely because the last night of the week is actually Jan 1 2022, and the 2022 point chart is not out yet). Which means the week is cheaper than it currently costs! But my husband is really not a fan of going during that week due to crowds, so we decided back-to-back Week 47 and 48 would be better!

This is a good calendar to use to see what Week corresponds to what dates. DVC Weeks begin on Sunday:

I think you misread it. It's normally 2 weeks after Thanksgiving is what they said.

For us it's basically that first full week of December most years and never contains any part of November which is important.

Right. There is the week after Thanksgiving, then there is the week after that.

Now I'm curious. Why is no November dates important?

First week of December sounds like a great time to be in Florida!

Sorry I’m new. But why was there no September UY available when buying direct? I thought you could pick what ever you wanted?

Can you modify a fixed week reservation? The "starts on a Sunday and reserves thru Saturday" is the problem for us. So, could you keep the days on your reservation that you want, but cancel a couple at the end and add onto the front (subject to availability and paying actual required points) to travel say Thursday to Wednesday instead (for example)?

A fixed week is just that, fixed. It's all or nothing. You are welcome to cancel your entire week and make the booking yourself subject to the 11 month rule, but otherwise a FW works like a traditional timeshare week.

It's another reason we did the runDisney FW instead - that one can be any day check in and any day check out, even if it's shorter than a week.

Hi! Congrats on the purchase...
Am i reading correctly that you paid $124/point after incentives? (Thought

hi.. congrats in the purchase!
Am I reading correctly that you paid $124/point? I thought that starting price for direct CCV was $220... thanks

I'm just curious: with the runDisney fixed week, does it also come with a guaranteed race entry spot? Obviously, you'd pay the fee, but some groups get a guaranteed entry if the want it. For example, the Perfect Princesses get a separate link so they can register without the crazy on registration day.

It seems lately you need to go through a TA just to be able to get in, but if you had a fixed week with DVC, you wouldn't want to do the 2-night minimum cash stay. It would be wild to have a guaranteed resort stay for a runDisney week, but then not be able to get race entry.

Yes, the contract includes a separate registration. We get an email link before the early AP/DVC registration opens. You're allowed 5 race entries to include 10k, half marathon, marathon, or any challenges. 5k and kids runs are not eligible for the early registration though.

That's amazing! I'd strongly consider this option if I consistently did the same runDisney weekend. Also, I don't stay a full week for runDisney weekends because of my teacher work schedule.

Yeah, it was easy for us because we always do at least one weekend and we love Food and Wine, so it's perfect for us.

Sorry I’m new. But why was there no September UY available when buying direct? I thought you could pick what ever you wanted?

So there is a wait list as they move around points so while you can pick any UY sometimes Disney doesn't have any in that specific month for immediate purchase.

Basically Disney has points already assigned to a UY and for new resorts typically all UY are available.
