Purchase points or wait for a code???

I really want to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge and my dates are flexible so I went to a well known site for purchasing points and used their points calculator and was just blown away by the price difference, even when adding in park tickets ( from a separate source) it was still over $1000 cheaper than Disney's quoted package. So should I just go for the points or wait it out and see if I get a 2013 code ( which can be a shot in the dark kinda chance)
How many have purchased points and have been satisfied with the process?
