Purchase of AP, DS or at Resort?

We will be purchasing Annual Passes for our trip December 7th. I got a Annual Pass rate for the hotel (All-star Music for $49 per night!!). I"m worried about them asking to see the Annual Pass at check-in. So my question is:

Can I purchase the AP, with Disney Club discount at The Disney Store? If I did this, they give you a voucher, then it is validated once you get to a park, right? Where are they validated, at the turnstiles or customer service? Would a voucher be good enough at the resort for proof of annual pass?

OR:

Can I purchase the AP (with discount) at the resort when we check in?

Yes, you can purchase your AP with the DS discount at TDS. We received our vouchers a month ago - we purchased ours this exact way.
You can activate your vouchers at the Guest Relations booths at the four parks and at DTD. I also believe you can activate them at TDS inside MCO.
Upon check-in, show your vouchers to the CM. They will request that you come back and show them the actual AP (once you've activated it) just to verify it.
I was told by DC reservations that APs weren't available for purchase or activation at the resorts.

Nope. You can buy an actual activated AP at the airport shops but you cannot activate a voucher there.

This last June, my DS and I stayed at Coronado Springs for 3 nights, then All Star Sports for 5 nights. I got an AP discount on both. I only had an AP voucher at check-in that I had purchased at TDS. NEITHER resort asked to see an AP or even the voucher at check-in or thereafter! I was really surprised by that!
