Purchase Mears at Airport or Before

I'm staying at the Swan, so ME isn't an option. I'm thinking of taking the Mears shuttle, but I don't know if I should make a reservation ahead of time or just show up at their counter at the airport. The thing that is holding me back from making a reservation is that I'm arriving at 8:30 PM. By the time I get my luggage I don't want to spend hours getting to the resort. If my flight is late and I'm exhausted I may just want to take a taxi. I know it's more expensive, but that's not the deciding factor.

Any advantage to reserving Mears shuttle ahead of time?

It might be less money for you to usw a towncar service. We have done that in the past before ME and it worked out great. I cannot remember the name of the company that we used, but I am sure that someone here will have some suggestions.

A cab or towncar service will be about $50-60, each way. Mears will be about $20. When I took Mears to the S/D, it took me about 85 mins....only about 15 mins longer than my average DME time. If you take a cab or car service, it will take about an hour or so.....10 mins to baggage claim, 20 mins there, 5 mins to the ground transport area, 30 mins to S/D.
Time of day isn't going to make a huge amount of difference..maybe 15 mins or so.

I've done both Mears shuttle & taxi (and car service). I had reserved Mears ahead of time, but there was absolutely no one at the counter when I went to check-in, so in your situation, I'd wait to book it there, then you can determine if you want a taxi or Mears. It took 90 min on Mears, I got right on the shuttle but then it went over to the A side of the airport to pick up passengers, then to 3 other offsite resorts before Swan/Dolphin.
