Purchase AP with Disney gift cards

I called MS today to make sure they received my fax with listed $50 gift cards to pay my 2014 MF's. After confirming this was taken care of, I ask to be transferred to MS seeking help to order AP's. Of course I knew they were going to tell me only 2 forms of payment as they did. I then begun asking questions about how I could use $50 gift cards to make the purchase other than waiting til I get to the resort. This nice Lady suggested that I might could go to a local Disney store and they could convert them to one card of any denomination. I thanked her kindly and immediately called the local mall Disney Store. I ask the clerk and she wasn't sure. She went on to say they hadn't been able to do this, but she thought they had made a change to their registers to allow this. She ask me to give her a minute to check and to my delight she confirmed they can do these now. Hopefully this will help some of you folks, because I can never repay for all the help I received on this site when I was making my contract purchase via resale.

Awesome! DW has forbidden me from buying hundreds of gift cards, no matter what savings. She just didn't want to be seen with me carrying a suitcase full of them, but if I can exchange them she doesn't even have to know!

I hope, I hope!!! I am capable of going through THOUSANDS of dollars in these per Disney event (a stay, cruise, On Ice, you name it). This change would make things enormously easier!

If you have a Chase Ink credit card, you'll get 5X Ultimate Rewards points if you buy gift cards at office supplies stores (Stapes, Office Depot, etc.), so I always buy my Disney Gift Cards there. All my WDW purchases then earn 5X points.

If you purchase your APs onsite, you can use as many GCs as you want as payment. You can even charge them to your room, I believe. This won't help with FPP, if you need to link the voucher or AP to your MDE account, however. But you could always buy the voucher onsite before your current AP expires so you can link something to your MDE.

I just called my local Disney store and was told no they cannot combine gift cards (still) . I was so excited after this post! Anybody else try? Also, does anyone know if they can combine gift cards on site at guest relations?
