Trip planned 30 days ahead (plane fare got cheap!)
FRI Dec 12
Slept late (until 9) ate breakfast in the room, and arrived in Epcot at 10:30. We all thought Mission Space would be fun again, and it was busy. 3 Fast Passes were grabbed, and we forgot we had to wait 15 minutes before getting any others, so we wasted a trip to Test Track, planning to get Fast Passes there. Oh well, I guess we have to go to Fountainview again. Sweetie and I both had Crème Brulee, Punkin had an Ice cream from one of the carts. By the time we finished we were perfect to go with our fast Passes. We talked to quite a few people who had not ridden yet, and they came through fine. All that talk about motion sickness problems seems to be just that talk. We have yet to meet anyone who has had a problem with Mission Space. I bought a cool Mission Space shoulder bag, and we got Mars Mud for Punkin and her best friend back home. All to be delivered to the room. One of the BEST Disney perks! A short walk to test track got us our longest wait in line all week. 30 minutes alter we were strapped in. Punkin was an angel (as always) standing in line, and the ride made her SCREAM (in a fun way). She has an awesome loud high pitched scream, sorry fellow riders! On the way back toward Spaceship earth there was a nifty old pin display, a lot of the Euro/Tokyo pins, Ltd editions, Cruise and Club Pins etc. Very cool. We went back to room at 1:30 PM to put our feet up. 2:45 we were done with lunch/rest and off to Disney MGM. We walked directly to R&R Rollercoaster and waited 20 minutes to ride. This ride was the first time that Punkin OPENED her eyes during the whole ride! Last Jan, she always closed her eyes We are so proud. The 2nd time through we had NO wait . So, 2 times riding this popular attraction in ½ hour. I think we are doing very well avoiding lines so far. I got the 4 postcard pic package for us of our ride with Punkin's eyes open. While I was doing that, She and Mommy went to Hollywood and Vine where we had reservations for the Fantasmic Dinner package. At the entrance we learned of a snag, either our reservation person or I had made a mistake and reserved tomorrow night. I had it written in about 3 different places, and still think it was the CM who took our reservations who screwed up, but no matter, Kyle at the door took charge and fixed it. In we go, and on to a FABULOUS buffet with all manner of Good Things fish, chicken, steak, Turkey, etc etc, and very well prepared and presented. Jason our server was most excellent. We WILL be going back! We ate like three pigs. We also walked all over trying to find Oscar's after we ate, not realizing it was right at the entrance to MGM. I do not think the dinner package for Fantasmic is worth the trouble, just get to the theater at least an hour ahead to get a good seat and enjoy watching all the people come in. The $4 hot cocoa in a souvenir mug is a STEAL when compared to other Dis/prices. We sat in the 4th row on the right side. Last time we sat about in the 10-12th row, dead center, and the seats were a bit better, more effect. We did feel the heat from the flames this time.. wooo another successful day! A note about digital Cameras. I picked up a Minolta Dimage Xi a few months ago, and it is the best camera I have ever used for 2 reasons. #1: SIZE. This camera is tiny. Fits in its keather holster on my belt and is absolutely unnoticed, SMALLER than a pack of cigarettes #2: a 256 MB card holds over 400 pics at a very nice setting of 1280 x 960. 3.2 megapixel. Takes GREAT pics! I will post some here. I took 400+.
