My DD finished her potty training about 6-8 months ago. However, she still has accidents when overstimulated (she forgets to go) and still has issues with BMs. Did other people use pull ups on their potty trained children when on the plane and then at WDW? She's proud, but does wear pull ups at night still. I just don't want an embarressing accident in public...then again, would she be more embarressed wearing "baby things". Has anyone had experience in this area?

Hi! My dd (3.5) has been daytime trained for about 6 months now. She does still wear the pull ups at night. I think we will do pull ups on the plane..We explain to her that she still needs to tell us if she has to go..(same thing with the night time wearing) We just put them on as a precaution. So its not a big deal if she does have an accident. I have also started buying the good nights. The smallest ones fit her and they are very thin, so they feel more like panties to her. I don't think we are going to have her wear them throughout the parks though. That might be a bit much.
Have a fun trip whatever you decide!

yes, we used them for a while.. especially on long journeys etc. We never had an accident.. and it never posed any problems..

My son wears custom-made cloth trainers that are more like underwear than diapers. He usually doesn't have an accident in them, but just in case!!!!!!!

DS still wears diapers at naptime and bedtime so we used a pullup on the plane hoping he would sleep (ha!) We didn't use pullups in the parks but he LOVES public restrooms  and they were never far or hard to find. If I remember correctly, most of the toilets are those LOUD automatic power flushers. Both DS2 and DD4 were nervous about them so you may want to bring pullups just in case she refuses to use them...

What we did (and still do) with my DD(almost 3) is have everyone stop and take regular potty breaks whether anyone has to go or not. That way there is no forgetting until the last minute when it's suddenly an emergency and you are about to get on a ride or in the middle of one!

It takes very little time out of our day, and we always seem to take the same routes through the parks so we know where "our" bathrooms are.

I'm lucky cause she trained quickly both day and night and rarely has an accident, when she does it's been while she was so preoccupied with something that she waited too long and that has only happened maybe once every couple of months and always at home. But I think this strategy will work for any child at any stage of training. And getting up and moving around on the plane will break up the long ride.

One other tip...if she' scared of loud noises (flushing) be careful with those automatic flushers...sometimes they go off while little people are still on the toilet if you are standing in front of the sensor and move the wrong way. It happened to us and it took alot of convincing to get her back on one!

We started potty training DD2 when she turned two last Nov. We went to WDW in April. She wore pullups and put underwear over them. She still asked to go to the potty but it gave us peace of mind knowing there she had "back-up."

As far as the sensor goes, I just blocked it with my hand until after she got up. I used that foldable toliet cover which is a great thing to have.

my DS has been trained (day & night) since he was 18 mos (my DD2, I don't think it'll ever happen!) - while he was training anytime we had to leave the house we put on his "special underwear" which were the feel & learn type - also a tip for self-flushing toilets is put a post it type note over the sensor light, this will keep it from flushing until your little one is done, HTH
