We are booked in a cabin on the Dream that has a bed, a pullout sofa and a pull down berth.
How sturdy, comfortable and high off the ground is the berth? Does anyone have any pictures?
We are in cabin 7054.
Thank you.

If they are like the berths on the Magic, Wonder and Fantasy, they are about 5 feet off the ground, maybe 5.5 ft off the ground (I am 5'7" and when I was standing I was almost face to face with my son, who was lying in the bunk). The steward sets it up at night and takes it down during the day, attaching a ladder to get in and out. I think the weight limit (which was printed on the side) was around 200 pounds - not exactly sure - give or take 20 pounds. There is a railing along the side but none on the end (or foot) of the bed. My 5 year old slept up there occasionally, and even when he was 4 he slept there once or twice. But I would not go any younger.

I didn't actually sleep in them, but my kids never complained about how comfortable they were or weren't. I don't think an adult would enjoy sleeping in them much, but they could (within the weight limit).

If you click through the slide show, it does show pics of beds down.
I feel DCL has improved the photos on their site, if you can find them.;)

ETA; the first link I believe is a Family Veranda, this next link is the Deluxe Veranda(standard)ie;7054.

Both show the same beds, but slightly different size cabins. Ironically both links have different photos of said beds, even though the same fwiw.

DCL site has alot of info if you have hours to play with it. ;)

I personally thought that the pull down berth was as comfortable as the sofa. It's significantly better on the Dream than the older ships, not sure if its a different mattress or what. It's obviously not as nice as the main bed, but it's better than many hotel pull outs and even hotel beds that I've slept in. And when you're laying on your back, there's a starry sky on the ceiling, which if there's a kid sleeping in the berth they'll enjoy it.

Thank you all for the links and the info. I feel much, much better now. I showed my DD8 the upper berth and she is super excited to sleep up there!

While I have never cruised on the Dream, I have cruised on the Fantasy, and the rooms are identical. DD10 slept on a berth. It is about 5 feet off the ground. It doesn't look sturdy, but it was very sturdy. There is a metal bar to prevent falling from the birth. DD said the bar was cold & uncomfortable, so we put an extra pillow over it and everything was fine. Image link is below. Have fun on your cruise! :)

thanks for posting the question and the pictures.

We only have one child traveling with us, but she has asked to sleep in the fold down bunk instead of the couch like she did last time. I like the idea that the couch stays set up and can then be used by others if wanted.

We will request with our room steward to set it up like this for her each night.

Is the head end butted against a little stub wall? My kids will both want to sleep. Up there but DS migrates in his sleep

No, I don't believe there is any kind of wall at either the head or foot, just a curtain. At least, not in any cabin I've been in but I haven't sailed in all categories.

The photo looks like an inside stateroom, where the bed is at the far inside of the room. In this case, I think the head of the pull-down is actually next to the wall of the bathroom. In an outside or verandah room, the layout is different (the bed is first, then the couch/desk/berth) and I think there might typically be more room between the pull-down and the wall in that room layout.

In the veranda rooms there is definitely open area to the top and bottom of the pull down. If no one else posts a photo I can pull one and post tomorrow after work. Scared me silly the first cruise we did on the Wonder since our older dd has been know to sleep walk.
