Pudge Controls the Weather-A Land and Sea TR Apr 6-Apr 15 ( Last Day new 5/26)

Too bad that the Mickey waffles are better on land than on sea! They still look good though!

I hope you guys had fun on your excursion, even though you had wanted to cancel it! Too bad they wouldn't let you!

I just can't get over how blue the water is in the Bahamas. It's so beautiful! I bet it's even prettier in person.

Too bad the Mickey waffles weren't as good!

I can't get over it either. It is just so perfect. Even the sand is a tad bit coarser than east coast beaches, so it was easier to get off of everything. I can see why people fall in love with the place.

Yeah, we went there specifically for Mickey waffles. And she had maybe two bites. Ahh, children .... gotta love them !!

I don't know, I agree with your DD. I think that everything tastes better when it's in the parks! ;)

Day 7 – Part Two

Glass Bottom Boat Tour – So when I left you last, we were meeting at club 687 for our excursion.

They gave us all a sticker and we followed our group off the ship and out to Nassau where we were asked about 20 times if we wanted our hair braided by the locals. We politely said no thank you and continued on.

So this lady in front of me .... she was spraying down her family with sunscreen. The aerosol kind. It was a little windy, so by the time she was done, I had a full coating as well. I turned back to DH and remarked that I didn't have to worry about a sunburn now.

The kids were excited about the name of the boat which was Sunshine. Which is the name of our yellow lab at home.

We all got on the boat and the kids were like, “I thought this was a glass bottom boat”. I was thinking the same thing when our guide let us know that we would get to go down below to see the fish in groups when we arrived at our destination.

Which one is the prettiest?? You be the judge.

So we arrive at the cove where we were supposed to go down and see the fish. And we all head downstairs to take a look.

DSC02858.jpg

I forget what these fish are called (grunts maybe?), but for the most part, this is what we saw.

DSC02859.jpg

Every now and then you saw a colored one, but to tell the truth ….. this was lame. I could never get a decent photo of any of the pretty ones. And there weren’t many. When you think about the money you spend to do it, it really isn’t a good value. Not a huge disappointment and it wasn’t a bad experience. The guide was very entertaining and she told us a lot of interesting facts about the Bahamas. It just wasn’t a great experience. DH took DS up to the top deck and they took photos on the way back.

I'm sorry to hear that your excursion was such a disappointment! You guys did get some really nice pictures from the boat though!

We did get some good photos. We will try to choose excursions better next time. It is hard though, because everything costs so much. Live and learn. We had a really nice afternoon on the boat.

Oh yeah. The Dream is the prettiest, by far!

Too bad you didn't enjoy the excursion too much, but at least now you know!

Yes, the Dream is the prettiest, for sure !! It was just an OK excursion. For $35 a person, it just wasn't a good value .... at all. We got right off that boat and got right back on the Dream. Heaven !!

Castaway Cay looks like tons of fun! I know DD would love it. I want to go parasailing!! I probably should stay away from it because it seems anything that has to do with water other than swimming and riding in boat, I'm a total spaz at. I can't even float in a tube down the river without incident. LOL!

I love that little flip flop bottle opener key chain! Cute!!

Yay! You went to Pink! Definitely seems like my kind of place. And that light fixutre...hmmm..unfortunate choice.

Little Miss Megaphone...what can you say. You are probably right, her parents probably encouraged her to spend time out on the veranda for a little quiet time. My nephew does not understand the concept of an inside voice- at all. It is tough to take after a while. His probably comes from having to fight for the chance to speak with two older sisters in the house. :rotfl:

The coffee at Cabanas was absolutely horrible. I was surprised Disney serves that stuff. Completely nasty. I drink my coffee black. I like it strong and black, so I was thrilled to hear about Starbucks being in the parks. But that Nescafe stuff ?? Ackk !!!!

I don't drink coffee, but always read about the complaints. The iced tea is generally horrible as well. Some of the TS places it is okay, and I'm convinced they aren't using that horrible Gold Peak stuff. At least they offer Twinnings teas if you want hot tea.

Royal Palace looks devine! I love the glass slippers!! I would have had a tough time choosing between the entrees you and your DH had. I bet that souffle was amazing. I'd have to pass on the cream for it, but I'm sure it was good on its own!

So cute DD chooses a Mickey Bar for dessert! Can't go wrong with a Mickey Bar.

I don't know how many times I've told my house staff to put the yacht in boat house! It seems so ostentatious to leave it out there at the dock like that. Oh well, you know what they say- mo' money, mo' problems.

Shame that your tour wasn't more enjoyable. A million years ago, my parents went to the Bahamas and did a glass bottom boat tour. At least you were well protected from the sun! We use the aerosol sunscreen, and my rule is you leave the house to put it on. The other day DD put some on before going out for a day on the lake w/ her dad, and my garage smelled of the stuff for three days. I can only imagine being directly behind someone frantically spraying down the family.

Castaway Cay was A-MAZ-ING. We loved it and we were so glad we go to go back again.

I can understand that since I am often loud for the same reasons. But we got tired of her real fast.

We loved Pink. Did not get to spend enough time there. They have a similar light fixture in Remy. It is supposed to be bubbles in the champagne. Epic fail.

Their coffee is generally terrible. And I agree about the tea. They need some new contracts.

Royal Palace looks devine! I love the glass slippers!! I would have had a tough time choosing between the entrees you and your DH had. I bet that souffle was amazing. I'd have to pass on the cream for it, but I'm sure it was good on its own!

They would let you try BOTH entrees if you wanted to.

Yep. every meal she had was pretty much a Mickey Bar for dessert.

I don't know how many times I've told my house staff to put the yacht in boat house! It seems so ostentatious to leave it out there at the dock like that. Oh well, you know what they say- mo' money, mo' problems.

That is the house of someone famous. DH didn't remember who it was. Yes, the contact sunscreen application was a little annoying, but it turned out to be a good thing, I guess.

Day 7 – Part Three

Finally back at the dock

DSC02891.jpg

And we headed straight back to the ship. We wanted to like this excursion, but we expected a whole lot more. So if you are thinking about doing this, save your money. It just isn’t worth it.

We were just happy to get back to the ship. We didn’t stop to shop or anything, we just went back. Every time we returned to our room, it was always so clean.

DS went straight to his club and DD, DH and I went up to deck 11 to get some pizza from Flo’s. And DH went to Cabanas to get some food from there.

After that DD went to get some ice cream when she was finished, we went up to the sports deck
