Publix Question

OK, so we are coming from the West Coast. We are using Happy Limo to get from AoA to the Port w/a free grocery stop, which, I am assuming is probably Publix since it is listed on their site.

Is this a full service grocery store? Or more like a Quikstop/711 type market?

Just trying to plan accordingly.

If you are buying liquor, you will need to stop at a package store. Grocery stores in FL only carry wine.

And the Publix deli options are sooooo goood. I get meals there all the time when I'm in Fort Lauderdale for my PhD residentials.

If you are buying liquor, you will need to stop at a package store. Grocery stores in FL only carry wine.

But many have liquor stores attached - Publix liquor, Sweetbay liquor, etc.

Publix is not only "a" grocery store, it is "the" grocery store in Florida. I'd compare them to Kroger in Ohio and Wegman's in New York. All other groceries in this state pretty much fall short for one reason or another. And be sure to check the specials at www.publix.com. Every week they have several things that are BOGO (buy one, get one free) and many other things on sale. And if something is listed as, say, 10 for $5.00, then you get the sale price no matter how many you buy. Also, if you're coupon clipper, you can combine the BOGO and sale offers with manufacturer's coupons as well.

It does include mikes etc. The Publix's in our county can only sell after noon on Sunday's so keep that in mind if you are on a 4 day Dream. Can anyone confirm if that is true of all or maybe a county regulation?

Not sure what Publix store your going to. Here are some links. Orange County (Orlando) you can but booze on Sunday. Not sure about Brevard (Cocoa).

Last time I was at the one on Curry Ford Rd in Orlando they did not have a liquor store. But as others have said they carry beer, wine and Mike's Hard lemonade in the grocery store just no hard liquor.

I don't know if you can get the lemo to make two stops but there is a ABC Liquor near both Publix stores.

We thought that Publix had a very meager selection of alcohol & especially beers. ABC liquor is near by and has a lot better selection. Maybe it is just because we are from WI and used to 100s of beers to choose from & 1000s of wines. If you like just the basic stuff Publix would probably be fine. I just wouldn't be expecting any craft brews.

my understanding ( with the caveat that it might be regional and liquor laws are definately regional) is that mike's hard lemonade and things like smirnoff ice are malt based drinks in the states, so they should be with the beer.

I bought beer at the publix and I think I remember seeing things like mikes. You can also buy beer at liquor stores like the ABC
