As our trip to WDW looms closer, I decided it's time to start worrying about EVERYTHING! :p

Here's my Worry of the Day: Does Publix sell Soy Silk (a refrigerator-case soy milk)? We stopped at the Kash N Karry last time we were in Orlando and they do carry Soy Silk, but we may be using a different car service and therefore a different grocery stop this time, so I wanted to check.

TIA --miffy-- :earsgirl:

Ours has a good variety. We have a cold case with soy milk, yogurt, etc. plus a natural foods aisle with shelf-stable soy and rice milks. I think most grocery stores down here carry soy products. Hve fun!

yes they have SILK brand vanilla, chocolate and other ones i forgot the names plus yogurts and other soya products all in a separate case.
they also have an organic section by the fruits where they have many items.
I love publix its my favorite.

Thanks so much, everyone.

BTW, is there more than one Publix that a car service could stop at between MCO and WDW? If so, should I request a particular one?

Thanks again. --miffy-- :earsgirl:

BTW - Silk comes in aseptic (shelf-stable) containers now. And, things kind of like juice boxes. We plan to get these and only refrigerate them as needed (in case we don't have a fridge and have to ice them up in the sink overnight) :D

They also come in aseptic boxes - like rice milk or the like. Starbucks now uses the aseptic packs and I guarantee - it is the EXACT same product as is in the refrigerated section. :D I think if you put it in a ziplock (for leakage insurance in checked luggage) you would be fine bringing it from home. We'll bring the juice box size ones in our carryons :)

Between the airport and WDW there are more that one publicx supermarkets, 1.The newest of them is located in the shopping center opposite the Premium Outlets, in lake buena vista, which is across from the Crossroads (a shopping center) and Down Town Disney area off SR535.
2. On Central Florida Parkway, close to Seaworld in a shopping center.
3. On International drive south and Highway 192 intersection, close to Gaylord Palms resort and convention center.
4. At Hunters Creek area on John Young Parkway Ext#11 from the 417 Central Florida Greenway.
Taxies have 2 way to go to Disney from MCO, some take the 417, the others take the 528 Bee line Expressway.
We prefere the 417 as it is shorter with less traffic and it passes by publicx #4 then #3 and finaly by #1 before reaching WDW.
A note, that all disney resorts sell food items at one of their resort shops or game rooms from the Grand Floridians to Fort Wilderness, items like individual cereals, milk , jucies, fresh main fruits, breads, Entenmans favorites, snacks, peanut butter sandwiches, bagels, popcorn, salads, cold meals etc. and if you are staying in a homestyle resort then you have the choice of breakfast items like eggs, meats, frozen food, canned food, condiments etc. in a limited selection with disney prices of course. That is just to let you know in case of ..
What you need to buy is water and plenty of it, at the parks and the resorts its very expensive at $ 2.50 for a small bottle

Thanks so much for all the fantastic info, everyone.

Familymoon: We're going to be in the World at the same time! We actually did bring packaged soy milk to WDW last trip, being pretty sure such an item wouldn't be available in Orlando, but were pleasantly surprised to find it was stocked at the Kash N Karry, so we're not planning to bring it this time--less to carry on the plane. DH uses loads of the stuff, since cereal is his favorite snack! That's why I wanted to check on the Publix situation, since that may end up being our grocery stop and soy milk is an essential item for us.

Perlla55: I've printed out your posting and I can't thank you enough for the detailed info. We didn't buy water at our grocery stop last trip and boy, were we sorry we didn't! I had one of those sports-size Brita bottle thingies and it did NOTHING to overcome the taste of Orlando water, so we ended up buying scads of high-priced bottled water. Thanks for reminding me not to make that mistake again. :p
