Is there a difference if I order through the Publix app or the Instacart app? I’ve always used Garden Grocer, but was looking for a less expensive option. I was just unsure if one way is better than the other.

Also, when should the order be placed? I’m used to doing it well in advance. We have nothing planned on our arrival day except dinner at Disney Springs, so meeting the delivery person is no problem.

Not sure how Publix prices on their app vary from Instacart. They could be the same. For Instacart, you'll want to place your order a day or two in advance and make sure to schedule it for the day/time you'll be there. That's about as much notice as they need.

I have never used Instacart but am going to try it for our trip as well. Do orders always get picked up? It says it will notify you when a shopper starts your order but what if no one is available?

You will absolutely never need to worry about that. I’ve used Instacart for years now, when it was first available in NYC and am an Express member and not once has that happened, ftr

Shouldn’t be an issue! We had an Instacart shopper shortage here (Virginia) when the pandemic first hit but that’s only because so many people were using it. Even then, by tipping well I had no issues getting my order.

I used Instacart on one trip and had a terrible experience, so will never use them again. I've always had great luck with Garden Grocer so they remain my top choice despite being a tad more $$$

We placed an instacart order for publix. We had a car with a grocery stop. We figured we could just pick up the order on our way to Disney. we received an email from instacart they couldn’t have our order completed in time. We had to cancel and shop ourselves. Won’t use them again

I used Instacart a couple weeks ago. It worked great for us. We ordered 5 days prior to our arrival day. You can modify the order until they assign a shopper. I got a text when the shopper started shopping and the app advised what had been picked. I also received a text regarding replacement items. I was informed when the shopper was on the way to the resort and when the order was dropped off (including a picture of my bags in the storage area at bell services). Once we returned to our room we called bell services and they delivered to our room. We did need to be in the room for delivery. We will use them again. It was great to have beverages and snacks in the room and not relying on getting these things in the “food court”.

Is a 9:00 pm delivery time realistic for Instacart? We are arriving on a Saturday, unsure when we will be able to check-in due to HS plans revolving around ROTR and not knowing what time we would be able to leave HS. We also will have to be present for the delivery because of having to present an ID for alcohol delivery. Just curious if they deliver this late?

ln looking at their app the last delivery block that you can choose is 8:00pm - 10:00pm

When you say you needed to be in your room for delivery- do you mean from disney guest services or from instacart?

Instacart didn't deliver a lot of my items, though they said they did. Bell Services said that is very common with them. I will say Instacart refunded my money very quickly, but I had to wait another 24 hours for my new order from Amazon Prime which was a hastle.

My DW did this for our trip about 3 weeks ago. Instacart worked really well for us. She received the shopping notification during our flight. When she caught up with her text messages she learned that the personal shopper was only missing one item and substituted it out for us. Instacart worked out slick for us. If you are staying on property, there will be a room charge of $6 for room delivery. I was a little disappointed that we were charged the $6 only because BC did not have our room available upon arrival and asked us to drop our bags as bell services while we waited for our room. So, I don't know why they felt they need to charge us $6 to bring our groceries when Bell Services was already bringing luggage too later that evening. Oh well.

We did end up going with Instacart. We had to be there to show ID since we ordered beer. On our items the shopper did pretty good. Asked to change out a fair number of them so maybe we were just unlucky with availability but I appreciated getting a substitute vs just leaving the item off. We did ask for both yellow and green bananas but they all looked the same more or less and one other item was wrong ( brought us a sugar substitute/ sugar free item vs what we asked for). Instacart refunded us for it. I would probably use them again but you need to be flexible with brands I guess.

We had the same problem. They delivered us the complete wrong order and dealing with them to get it fixed was a huge hassle. They said they would redeliver it (never did) and then finally refunded my money after sitting on them phone with them for at least an hour. We only use Garden Grocer now -- they have always been great and I love that you don't have to be present for alcohol delivery.
