We’re here at Disneyland today and enjoying the beautiful weather.
While waiting in the wheelchair/ECV line, something got me thinking. I really have to give kudos to the CMs, especially one in particular. We were informed that there would be an extra 15 minute wait which we were fine with. Unfortunately a man behind us gave the CM a really hard time and complained that he and his group had waited over two hours to get on the ride. Apparently. they had arrived at the line earlier, were dissatisfied with the wait and were given the option to return later. They opted to return, but ended up waiting even longer had they just stayed the first time. The CM patiently and politely explained that today is extra busy due to it being May the 4th and the Space Mountain overlay, plus limited number of accessible ride vehicles. Unfortunately the man continued to give him a hard time.
I bring this up because for the obvious reasons, the next several months into the foreseeable future are going to likely bring unprecedented crowds. From what I’ve seen today, Disney is doing all they can to prepare. However, as guests we can prepare as well by having realistic expectations, planning accordingly and being patient. All of us need to keep in mind that the CMs will working extra hard this summer season (and beyond), so let’s all follow their direction when in the parks, and show them extra kindness and appreciation. Just my two cents.
