Might want to get the tissues with this one.....

****WARNING**** Not intended for those who cry easily..or easly get disturbed.

PLEASE CLICK AT OWN DISCRESSION

Due to a PM I received...I removed the link. I am sorry if I offended anyone. Not my intention. I am an animal lover, and it disturbed me also. If you are still want to see the link, PM and I will give it to you. Otherwise, Sorry. I will just sink back into the woodwork and lurk for a bit as sometimes it feels best to not contribute at all. Sorry again if I offended

You might want to put a warning with that one.:(

Just seeing what the topic is when I first click on that, nope, no thanks. :(

Very sad :(, especially for a new dog owner like myself. At least I got mine from a no kill shelter. :)

We got our puppy from an animal shelter that doesn't kill them either. It is just so sad, it makes me want to go back and adopt all the dogs that were in the shelter.

Wow that is soo soooo sad. I just moved to Atlanta and it makes me want to go volunteer and try and save the pups...so sad...

We adopted our full-blooded cocker spaniel from a local shelter - 24 hours after he was "dropped" off by a family who felt they could no longer take care of him.

He was 11 months old at the time and we've had him now for 2 1/2 years. He lives in the lap of luxury with a family that loves him dearly. :D

...GOD BLESS ALBERT!:(

<font color=navy>Dax,

Not everything we post will set well with all. Sometimes there are those who need to read information, even if it hurts reading it - sometimes it helps knowing that others care. Others have a harder time reading about tragedies.

Your posts are always good, so no slinking around into lurkdom.

Hugs,

For what it's worth...I wasn't offended, I just knew what the ending would be and that would break my heart. I think it's important to remind people that this goes on though. :(

I am sorry if my PM caused you to remove that link... I didn't mean for it to do so... just to warn others that it is not just a tear jerker but slightly disturbing to see a dead animal like that. Maybe I didn't read the link close enough before I clicked on it, but I just didn't expect to see what I did.

And for the record I am a huge animal lover and am completely aware of what goes on... it's always sad. And it is an important reminder to be said...

Again sorry, I didn't mean for you to go into lurking becuase of something I tried to quietly say to you in a PM.

Well that was my original intention behind it. I think some people"forget" what happens. I had found the site onanother board that is visited by both adults and teens, and I felt it was a good way to teach about responsible pet ownership.

Oh well...I know my place on the boards...I will stay there...

Well all I can say is I am sorry... I'll say again I just suggested a warning other than "tear jerker" which is all that was there when I saw the link, not for you to remove it completely.

Sorry for stepping out of line. And please don't take that as a personal attack... that was the furthest thing from it. I hope you reconsider not lurking. You make wonderful posts and I would hate to see you stop. This whole thing has me so terribly upset right now... I wish you didn't take it the way you did.

And sorry all for causing trouble, any of you who know anything about me, I certainly don't mean to :(

Oh well...I know my place on the boards...I will stay there...
I for one hope that place is right here, continuing to post. I wasn't offended by the link, although it was sad to see. Things like this can be a wake up call for people who let their pets run loose and then wonder why they never come home.

I didn't view your link, but I would like to add my opinion....
I know exactly how you feel.
Years ago I posted a question, and someone answered with a very smart comment and a
I was so hurt, that I did not post for long time.
But then (just recently) I decided that I was going to start posting again because I felt like I was missing out on all the "fun" and friendships that people on the DIS have with eachother.
The written word always sounds harsher than the verbal word. I have read many of helenabears posts, and I am sure she didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
Please don't "lurk". Remain active so all of us can share in the wonderful information that you are able to contribute to our DIS community.
And even though I didn't see your link, I have owned pets that I loved very dearly. I'm sure you just wanted to give everyone a reminder about "thinking" and taking care of their pets. Sometimes the "shock factor" is the only way to get people to take your point seriously.

<font color=navy>Seems to me that two of our DISers with good intentions are hurt. Hate when that happens.

Hugs, you guys - I think you both mean/meant well.... You're good eggs (not like that Jack Sparrow).

What Mary Jo said! And she's one of the bestest eggs around here! :p :bounce:

I didn't see the link, but I can imagine what it was. My mother, God bless her, is always telling me to look at things because she knows how much I love animals. Sometimes they're cute little puppy or baby monkey stories, something like that, sometimes they're ugly, vicious stories about abuse. One time she called me to leave the kitchen to come see a story on the news about dogs. So -- I ran out into the living room just in time to see dead dogs being carried out a fighting ring. :( I said, "Ma! Why in the heck would you call me to see something like that?" She said, "Because I know how much you love dogs." She didn't, and still doesn't, realize that even though I love animals and would be interested in the story and what I could do to help, I wouldn't be interested in seeing graphic images of what actually happened. I'm just way too senstive and stuff like that haunts me.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say in all this blabbering is this: Dax, although I don't know you that well, I often get a kick out of your posts and I have never seen anything unfriendly in them and I'm sure this one was not meant to be unfriendly or unkind. And -- as far as Helenabear goes, I can vouch for her; that she's a sweetie and wouldn't want to hurt anyone. AND -- I hope I'm way late on this and you guys have worked it all out and I'm making a fool out of myself. :teeth:
