Ya know, I thought it was bad that so many smokers empty their ashtrays into parking lots, but they've got nothing on what I just heard.

My Mom just told me that she has seen at least six "fully loaded" diapers dumped in mall parking lots in the past month, just steaming away on that baking-hot blacktop in the humid Jersey summer heat.

Has anyone else seen this? I am sooooo grossed out. Can you imagine getting out of your car and stepping into one of these things? People seem to be getting more uncivilized all the time.

that's just WRONG!!!

what - they can't fit a big zip-loc bag into your diaper bag and dispose of the loaded diaper when you are near a trashcan or home or something?

A friend of mine did that - with her 4 year olds huge loaded diaper. I keep bags with me, they smell like baby powder, I toss the diaper in there and then throw it away when I find a trash can.

I've seen it a bunch around here, but only in the more "urban" areas.

It's just nasty!

Sorry to say, but this lazy, gross act is not new. I have seen soiled diapers in many a parking lot for many years.

The worst part is-I find them at my high school. Looks like the moms at school go change their kids in the parking lot when they come to visit.
If the smell of a fully loaded diaper bothers the parent they should invest in some of those flower scented trash bags. They do mask smell. We used them to store a shark in when we were dissecting that. If they can mask that smell, they can definitely deal with a diaper.

i used to live in an apartment building and my neighbor across the hall used to leave them right outside his door, so he didn't have to smell them but the rest of the hall did.

Disgusting!

I've seen people throw them in the lake too!

I passed one in a parking lot on the way to the beach a couple weeks ago. Disgusting! These people don't have any respect for others, never mind disposing of "hazardous" waste properly!! Makes you wonder if they should have kids!!

Some people just don't have respect for others and Mother Earth! Shame on them!!!!

There are certain sections of Philadelphia that have what are known as "diaper trees".

These are filthy diapers that are thrown out of windows of apartment buildings & land on tree branches.

Totally disgusting.

I've seen some steamers in the parking lot of my Wal Mart also. Usually only a few feet from a trash can.

I have actually never seen this! I cannot believe people actually do this! Kim&Chris, what section of Philadelphia does that happen in? I've been here for a while and never seen or heard of "diaper trees". I must be hanging out in different places.;)

I have also seen this for many years. It always bothered me as lazy people, slobs, etc, but now we know that children are born with HIV , it just makes me sick. I always take the long way around them

Last year when we were at Clearwater Beach, we were in the water and a dirty diaper floated past us. Ruined the rest of our day as we immediately got out of the water and left. That is so disgusting! People have no respect for others.

:crazy2: Ick. That's disgusting. I remember one time I was going into work..had just parked my car and was fixing to lock it up when I noticed a mom changing her son on the hood of her Range Rover (or whatever it was..giant SUV) and then she just tossed the dirty diaper on the ground. YUCK! :crazy2:

WHY do people do this..that's just gross!

TOV

I can't believe that this is common!! When you think about all the regulations hospitals must follow for disposing medical waste, dumping a loaded diaper in a public place for someone else to clean up should be a criminal offense with a hefty fine.
