public beach vs. Blue Lagoon Day?

Trying to plan our day in Nassau. We plan on spending lots of money on Castaway Cay to do all that is offered there, so we want to "take it easy" in Nassau. Question is, how does the public beach in nassau compare to the Blue Lagoon excursion? We don't want to spend alot of money on an excursion to Blue Lagoon Beach if the public beach is comparable. I've heard great things about Blue Lagoon, though, and don't want to regret missing it. HELP! All input appreciated greatly!! Sue

We've never been to Blue Lagoon, but we've done the public beach several times. It's nothing special, but nice if you like to swim and lounge on the sand. You can use the restrooms in the hotel next door. There are some vendors wandering around selling drinks, trinkets, etc., but they will leave you alone if you give them a polite "no."

Me and my wife have been to both if theres any way you can swing it I would highly recommend it.We have been there twice the island is fantastic lying in a hammock together overlooking the ocean to us is priceless.This year we are going in august with our five kids and we will be taking them on the 1 hour tour.We have never been to castaway cay so we can't compare it but if its anything like the people on the dis say oh my.We thought this tour was worth every penny and I'm sure our kids will love it.Everybody has different views but for us this was the best thing in nassua.BLUE LAGOON ITS AWESOME
