Ok, feel free to move this to another board, but I wasn't sure where he would see this. I just stayed at Beach Club Villas, and I guess I need to apologize to Tyler for some harsh remarks about the Epcot resort buses. One of the days I decided to go to the Magic Kingdom, so I walked out to the Beach Club bus stop, and just as I approached the bus stop, an empty Magic Kingdom bus pulls up, and we proceed onward and to the Magic Kingdom, bus completely to myself. This was about noon or so. Later on in the day, late afternoon, I head back, and while there were some people with me on the return bus, nobody had to stand or anything, and this was a newer bus with fewer seats. The next day, I took the bus to the Animal Kingdom. This time less than 10 minute wait, and after all 5 stops plus Blizzard Beach, nobody had to stand. And even going back to the hotel right after the parade, most of the seats were full, but still nobody standing on the return trip either. Then the next day I took the Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon bus to Typhoon Lagoon- again short wait for both trips, and nobody had to stand. Now granted this was a very slow week, so that's probably part of this, but I guess after this trip I can't tell Tyler that they shouldn't ever combine the Epcot resort buses even in the slower times. During this week, they combined all the Epcot resorts into one route for all the routes, and it seemed to work out fine. Now during the busy weeks, it may be a different story. But I apologize to Tyler for demanding dedicated buses year-round, when it clearly would be wasteful during slow weeks like this one. Sorry Tyler, I guess Disney knows what it's doing at least part of the time ;)

Thanks Flower! He may not even see this, but at least the people who read it will know that I try not to be critical of Disney ALL the time. If I let it, it gets so I can just pick at every little thing, instead of just relaxing and enjoying it.

So what's the point of going on vacation if you're not going to RELAX?????

I agree with your freediverdude, :)

I stayed at BC and was really concerned about the combined resort bus sharing... but it was not bad at all, Swan & Dolphin, then YC then BC... Boardwalk was last.

A couple of times when it was busy the bus went straight to YC, then BC... not sure why.

Even when you have to make multiple stops it is nice to look close up at the other hotels.. a couple of times I was tempted to depart and poke around.

>>^..^<<

That was nice of you freediverdude.

It seems hit or miss for us. We stay at the Beach Club Villas and this past March, it seemed like we hit the lotto. Everytime we walked up to the bus stop there was either a bus there or one with in 5 minutes. This past May we were late for 3 of our character breakfasts due to 45 - 50 minute waits for the buses.

I appreciate the gesture, but it's really not neccessary. It's hard to get the grand picture of our operation, when you're here one or two weeks out of the year, and only ride maybe 2 buses out of 2,000 bus runs that day.

Well, is that you agreeing? I can't tell, but oh well, I tried to be fair and apologize that they might not have to be split all the time, so I've said what I thought was fair. But someone else did have a good point about the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Old Key West being able to afford their own dedicated buses for some reason. So I guess Disney is lucky that the other resorts are clustered together so close so they can get away with combining the bus routes.

I'm just saying that it's hard to see the whole picture, when you're coming from a guest perspective... even one who visits often. So I understand the frustration of where you were coming from on your original point of view, and am glad that you got to see a different view this time. I can babble to no end, but actually seeing something is totally different.

When a guest takes a ride on a bus from one of our resorts, they're taking one trip out of a possible few hundred bus trips out of that resort for that particular day. When you're dealing with that many runs, you're bound to get some runs that are jam packed, and others that are half empty. There's just so much variation, but you only see that 1/100th of the picture. And if luck has it that you see that same pattern other times, it's very easy to form an opinion that might not always be true for the rest of the operation. (gotta love Murphy's Law)

As for AK Lodge... if there were another resort right next to it, they would share. Old Key West... that's another can of worms, because of the many stops within the resort, and no other resorts in that area. (Port Orleans is too large, and Saratoga is yet to open...)
