Pub Master Jay

I have to agree about the realtionships as a reason to return. We really enjoyed our hostess, server and assistant server. We thought Jay was great! We liked David and Christian.

Although you know that you are one of a couple thousand on the cruise, they make you feel special.

Serisoulsy, these folks are the reason I spend the extra cash and the reason we are willing to drive from New Jersey to get on that ship! We're going Easter week so air fare is through the roof.

We could have very easily taken a far less expensive cruise out of New York.

Not to turn this into a cast member love fest thread but when it comes down to it, people like Pubmaster Jay, David, Christian, Clayton, Pubmaster Tim, Aneta, Genises, Som-Pong, Claire, Natalie, and Luke just make the trip uncomparable.

Sorry about the double post, but I need to share again. This news is really bothering me....


On a whim we hopped down and jumped on the wonder for a 3 nighter over the NJ teachers convention. We had not yet experienced Pubmaster Jay. This first day, as we sat in Diversions, he came up and personally introduced himself. I told him that we practically live in Diversions and he had a lot to live up to since we just spent 15 days with Pubmaster Tim coming through the Panama Canal. He proceded to ask us about Tim and how he did and we spoke nothing but praises. Jay then proceded to tell us that he was head pubmaster and he was super happy to here that Tim had such a profound effect on our excellent vacation. From then on, I felt like Jay was our best friend. He'd go out of his way to find us at events like the pirate party to say hello, he bought us a round in diversions one night. He'd have real conversations and listen like he cared! He was just outstanding.

you guys are like me, if it wasn't for all the awesome cruise staff I would prob choose RCCL out of NJ or something. You mentioned Luke he is great I'm sad he'll be on the Wonder in Febuary when I am on the Magic, I told him I might have to book on the Wonder now

Me too. She is probably the gatekeeper- reads all emails and then sends to appropriate dept. Let's hope these all make a difference!

My wife and I are currently scheduled to sail on the Magic 4/4/09.

We specifically booked the cruise based on experiences with severel cast members. We are traveling alone as a young married couple and always look foward to seeing the familiar faces.

One of those is Jay. If there is no shot at seeing these "old friends," it makes it more difficult for use to want to travel on such a family based ship. Even though we love Disney, there are many more, less expensive options for folks in our demographic.

As dopey as it seems, we always feel like we are with friends and family due to folks like Jay.

From what I understand, it wasn't necessarily his choice. I have no idea of the circumstances. But I believe he wants to return. I just don't know what the circumstances were.

I don't know the circumstances either, but I've heard is wasn't his choice to leave

They run games, manage the TV's and sports being shown, they run Wii tournaments, keep guest entertained, etc. They are in the pub from open to close, day in and day out. DCL generally picks someone with a great personality so they make Diversions a great place to be.

Pubmaster Tim was on the repo and he was amazing. He was such a great guy and I found we spent a great deal of time in there because of him. My DS18 spent almost all of his time in there and Tim was great company for him.
