Howdy there people
Is there,
anyone out there?
Greetings program!! I love Tron
Well, this will be my first attempt at a PTR. This PTR will be one that I hope others will enjoy and follow. I can't promise you a this will be a magical story. Well, I hope to have some magic happen.
Where to start this story???? Hmmmmmmmm, I guess it all started in 2003 when a small family of 3 traveled to Kissimmee Fl to relax for a 8 days, and spent a day at Sea World. And what a blast. A day at BB. One 55 mph wedgie coming up!!
I'm sorry Susan if I made you mad for rushing you in the rain at BB. We stayed offsite at the HOJO Maingate East (We still like to get down to HOJO for a day or 2 just to get over the 14 hr drive before we play at the world.) We did a 3 day cruise on the Wonder
. DD got sea sick. Poor poor kid. After the 3 days on the Wonder, went back to Sea World on a "FREE" 2nd day park pass that was free (as long as you got your card or ticket stamped. Only had to pay for parking. Preferred parking that is. a whole $10. I think we were cheap back then. The preferred psrking was just walking distance to the entrance. Got up early the next day to go eat a free breakfast for DD at IHOP, so we could hurry up open the park. Watch the offical park opening. We stayed til 2 pm. It was SOOOOOOO HOT HOT HOT!!! Is this normal in July? (How do you family's of teachers and auto workers do it down here in July) And then came back to MK around 6 pm after the rain was done and hungout til parks closing 11 pm or midnite. we we're rollin' COMMANDO
. In August. And the next day we had to drive home. Without cruise control. UP HILL, BOTH WAYS............IN THE SNOW
Sorry!!
We get home after 14 hrs driving, we find the DIS
and we met a new friend for life from Alabama. Hi Debbie
Did a 7 day cruise on the Magic, a DIS meet on the ship before the cruise and 1 day at each park at WDW and also got our PAL Mickey's (DW and I have our own Pal Mickey and had our first character meal at DAK!! I think it was the Prince and Princess package. $60-65 per person. Got the kids $50 in Disney dollars. I still have a Goofy $5 or $10 bill. And 2 Pal Mickey's.
2005, That was a first taste of WDW right after Thanksgiving had ended and the Christmas holidays we just ramping up. We had our ups and downs with this trip. Nothing bad, We got to open up MGM as the family of the day on the same day as the opening of the Narnia Exhibit. Gov Bush was planning a video opening at 4 pm. DW and DD's wanted to the the Narnia Exhibit. 2007, 2007, this year we went without the kids, just the little kids inside!! It was AYOAMD. Daily chances to sleep in the castle. Fastpass's. meals, gift cards. We got Dream fast-passes while at MK when we were waiting for the Capt Jack pirate tutorial. Watch the video Click here please. Once we got off the ride, DW came face to face with Aladdin. And asked her if she had seen Abu? Got sung to buy the bango playing quartet at MK during MNSSHP and Return to Zero at MGM for our 6th Anniversary. Even did a La Nouba. What a Great show!!
2008, Oh what a year. The only way to truly visit WDW is for Christmas. Yes it was a bit crowded and prices were WAY up there
. We still loved it at our first moderate resort. POR. Bldg 16. We loved Pop Century at this point. Been the PC twice and ASSports by the shark fin pool. We have looked in to buying into DVC since we learned about it in 2004 on the Magic. It was probably one on our best April Fool's joke on DD. We bought into DVC on April 1 2009. And told DD. LOL (April fools!!) Did our first trip to AKV and BLT 2010. Which was a heavily planned second adult's only trip for DVC 2010. Best trip to date. I got pulled up on stage at La Nouba for the bike jump
And yes, it was VERY VERY cold. The coldest weather since 1969. It was still colder back home (lows near 10) We Still had a blast "drinking around the world" at Epcot.(which turned out to be a great weather day. And one of the reasons why we want to stay at BLT, monorail to 3 of the parks( Monorail to Epcot the walk to boats to MGM. Park hopper pass). Great pools for our family to choose from. BLT, CR, Poly and GF(I think we can go here).)
Now that I think we are a bit up to date, This trip was a reason to get DVC. DD will be bringing here DBFF. They have been to Holiday World, Cedar Point, King's Island, Baseball and arena football games with DW and I. Just never to WDW. We keep saying we would. I just want to surprise her on the morning we leave (when she thinks we are going to Ceder Point)
I swear hunny
, I have no idea who or why she thinks that her party will be at Ceder Point??
This story will begin with the original idea, it was going to be a 2br at AKL for 6 people. There was going to be
DW
DD
DDBFF
DMil
DFil
and Myself
Sadly
, DFil had passed away on a day in Louisville, we would normally be by the Ohio River for Thunder over Louisville air/fireworks show. If you were ever in a room with a family member passing? Then you will understand what it's like to be in the room? Then, 3 weeks later, DW's DAunt's DH passed. I was getting scared it first. Was another family member going to pass? And if so,...................................who?
To top all of this off, We have had a record year for rain so far. As of this typing, Louisville was nearly at its normal annual rain fall (44-45"/yr) and we are 2-3 inch away from that much rain fall this year. And it's even not July yet!! We are just a tadbit more the a year til "Sweet 16".
As it stand right now, I have 2 different ideas for for DVC stays. DW and I plan on staying at the same resort. We want to try and not have to pack more then 2 times!!
Plan #1 - Easy to do at the 11 month mark. Getting to stay @ AKV in a 1br standard view. We need the extra bathroom with 4 ladies in the room
. We could get a savannah view like we did last year in the Pembe savannah. Every time we went on the balcony, we say animals!! But this will case use to give up a day or 2 of our vacation. (could stay offsite for a day or 2?)
Plan #2 - A little harder at 7 month mark for BLT!!! Wish me luck. 1br lake view. Monorail rides to MK and Epcot!! Enjoy MK over 3 days. No reason to ones self!! Right? And maybe 2-3 days at Epcot and combine Epcot with MGM. What would be easier to get at BLT? a 1br standard view or 1br lake view? I would love to be up high again and be facing the sunrise.
On top of it all, we still have to visit WWOHP. DMil wants to save money by cooking in the room. I still want to plan 2-3 meals, breakfast at Chef Mickey's on the last day. Crystal Palace for a park opening morning (I think we can try to be picked at the park opening family of the day) Can't this be done. It's just one more thing I have to add the the mix. We are also looking at getting the teen's a 7-8 day pass with water park access. Give the girls the choice of what water park to enjoy each day(if they want to) or be at the same park and go our separate ways. If we are at AKL/AKV there will be lots of bus riding for the girls. We may drive our car from AKV. If at BLT, that just means more monorail time. even sleep in some
Isn't relaxing and sleeping in the reason why we go on vacation in the first place?
Until next time, I just want to say to you with this happy little video.
Just Click HERE PLEASE.
I hope to hear for someone!!
Thanks again,
John
