Welcome to my JULY PTR!

Like you (why else would you be here?) I LOVE Disney World. I researched so much before our first trip in 2008 that I can say I knew more than people who had actually visited the parks. I tend to be obsessive and Disney and the Disboards really allow for those skills to be put to good use.

I am an English teacher- I nearly always (can't catch everything) use correct grammar, but my style could certainly use improving in these reports. My dh is a letter carrier, and we will be celebrating our sixteenth anniversary in WDW!

Sorry for the poor quality- iphone at night...

Our twin girls just turned ten and are terrific fourth grade students. They participate in chorus and orchestra at school and play travel soccer.

One of these years!!!

I would like to say we won't be leaving until the afternoon, but knowing Charles, he will have us up and gone early in the morning.

I'll have to get your phone and text you when we arrive. (You'll probably be out of Florida, but who knows. Maybe Charles will realize he forgot a cool Star Wars lego from DTD!

Woohoo for another PTR!!!! :woohoo:

Love the pics and Sprint and Skittle are adorable.

Thanks! We take a ridiculous number of pictures of them...I really should include them in my reports. haha

I'm joining In, can't wait to here your plans.

Thanks! I have a great list of Christmas events to post for you. If I remember correctly, you are planning a future Christmas trip, is that right?

Yay! Another trip... I am excited to follow along as you plan it out. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks! I don't ever think the planning reports are as good as the trip reports...I enjoy posting all the after trip pictures!!

We are going in July also. We were on the July '10 board together. I follow along with your trips, but haven't posted much. Following along.

First, you have to determine dates.

If you live in my house this means that no vacations can be planned more than four months in advance. However, this means that I don't have to wait as long for my vacation to arrive!!!

130 days!

Dh was able to take his time in July!

I love going to Disney in July! This lets me wind down at the pool and enjoy the anticipation of my trip. It also allows me to come back and remember the trip, play with pictures and write a tr before the stress of back to school!

Once I knew the dates, I needed to book airfare or decide if we would drive.

Dh said he wanted to leave on Sunday and come back the following Sunday. I looked at airfare and talked him into flying home Tuesday. (The flight time was just better...- well, really it was.)

Airfare was a good price, and I had a credit from Dec. The total cost for the four of us round trip was $748!!!! I couldn't possibly find an excuse to drive for that price! (Now, I need to watch to see if fares drop more so I can store a credit for next winter!)

Next, where to stay...

I checked online for DVC availability. (This new feature is AWESOME!) We wanted to stay at Boardwalk.

No, we don't find him scary!

But for those who do...

They didn't have all of our dates. I found AK Jambo for all of our days and booked it. Then, I found that Boardwalk did have an availablity: it was less points, and I could stay another day... DH told me no; I already got my extra Disney Day.

I am conflicted about AKV. We love it there. I love Mara and the lobby and the gift shop and the warmth. It just doesn't ever seem sunny there. It is dark in the rooms and shaded at the pool...

Anyway, it is lovely and I think I just really wanted to be at Boardwalk. However, had we been at Boardwalk, I would have missed AKV!

So, I better get busy on dining reservations, huh? Next Update!

Oh, cool! Welcome! I see you are also cruising! Is there a July 12 board? I'll have to look. As you saw (can't remember if I posted here or on my Dec trip report), I am going on a cruise with my mom and girls in June. It is Carnival (if it was Disney, dh wouldn't be very happy), and we leave from Balt. Our ports are Port Canaveral, Nassau, and Freeport. What are your ports? Have you been on a Disney cruise before?

Hey there!! Guess what!? We're going to be in Disney at the same time this summer, and I'll be staying at the Boardwalk Villas!! I'll be there July 14th-22nd! :)

Hi! Welcome...We've made it through February- finally!!! Once we hit May time should fly, right?

Where are you staying? When was your last trip?

Another reader and July tripper here!

Hello! I'll have to hop over to your PTR- a three month old? Your touring style is very different from ours. haha

Yay July!

Totally here Deb! Cant wait for more! :)

That is correct. Thank you I look forward to seeing the list. How are the BWV?? We are hoping to change from SSR to either BLT or BWV. We don't know much about the BWV though except that it is walking distance to Epcot and you can take a boat to HS.

Yay! It's turning into a party!! Your trip is soooo soon!!!

BWV's walk to HS is sooo much quicker than the boat. I would say the walk is between .5 and .75 of a mile. I would say for Christmas, I would choose BWV over BLT. I think that the close access to Epcot makes it easier to fit in more storytellers and CP. MK's events seem like they could be covered more easily in one visit.

BWV doesn't have a counter service. You have to go to the Boardwalk. The pool is very nice. We enjoyed it and community hall.

My list is hand written, but I will type it up over the weekend.
