A good trip report should include pictures. If you don't want to post pictures of people, that's OK, but definitely do scenery shots and detail shots.
I actually use my pictures to help me write a TR. They serve as my memory for what I've done.
Use a photohosting site such as flickr or photobucket to store your photos and then post the IMG link.
Here's the thing with trip reports. Start reading and subbing to other people's TRs now. When it comes time for you to write yours you will have a built in readership. It's frustrating to write a TR if no one is reading it. There are a group of people, myself included, you are regulars on the TR boards. I find it goes both ways - if you read mine then I'll read yours.
Catchy titles help. Post a link to your TR in your signature.
