PTR for the planning obsessed....Updated 11/5 We're home now.

That's why I do the big ribbon.....it screams you didn't put this ribbon on, this is not your luggage!

And why do the airlines give you claim tickets??? I 've never once since an airport employee checking that you didn't take someone else's bags.

Hey anyone know how much money those luggage carts are at the Orlando airport??

I have a big wild print bow on mine. They were actually checking out my carry on bag. Excuse me....I've been carrying this with me the entire time. It's mine.

The only airport I've ever actually seen check claim tickets was in Fort Lauderdale. My family moved to central Florida so I haven't flown into Fort Lauderdale in years to know if they still do. The airport I fly out of now is so small the exit is right next to the one baggage claim belt. They aren't even pretending that they are going to check a claim ticket.

Hi there!

I'm new to the thread but have been lurking for a few days as I got caught up. How exciting that you leave so soon.

That pumpkin shirt is TOO CUTE! Great job!

I love the shirts for Liam! On the pumpkin Mickey, how did you get your lines so precise? I mean, when you cut out the transfer. It looks amazing! You don't have any white background showing at all! :goodvibes

Welcome and thanks for de-lurking!

Over the next 17 days I will be updating you with our daily itineraries so you know where we are going on our upcoming trip to WDW…..and I’ll be sharing pictures from our past trips so you can see where we’ve been.

Vacation Day One Sunday October 26 2008

We have a 7:10am non-stop flight to Orlando, arriving at 10:10am.

No ME for us this year.

We’re renting a car because I think it will easier with DS.

In an order to be determined that morning we will check into the Caribbean Beach Resort, get lunch and go for groceries (mainly breakfast food and drinks).

We stayed at POP in 2005

The plan is to relax at the resort (I’ll be unpacking and organizing the room) until we went to go to dinner at Beaches and Cream. We go to the Boardwalk area the first night on every trip. (if it's raining we have back-up plans to go to 1900 Park Fare for dinner).

At some point this evening (or Monday morning) I hope to meet up with MrsKSomeday (Tracy) for a drink.

After that we’ll call it a night and try to get some sleep.

Ooooh! I can't wait to hear about all your plans again.

Sounds like a great first day. I have to make it over to the boardwalk area sometime!

Sounds like a great first day -- I like that you spend the day getting orgainzed and relaxing. The Beach Club and Boardwalk area look so neat -- we need to make our way over there.

Sounds like a nice and relaxing first day. I'm always so impatient I'm running into the parks as soon as I land. I'm thinking on my solo trip I'm going to take it easy my first day. Ease my way into the world.

Hi Heidi,

I'm sorry I've been gone so long......I've just done a huge breeze thru to get myself caught up and can't believe it's under a month now! How super exciting. I just love all the cute stuff for Liam, he'll be one handsome Disney boy down there.

And I too love the Croclings, Margaret just had the reg. Disney crocs, but Mae has 2 pairs of the crocling style, she really likes them.

It really seems to all coming together for you! and I LOVE the autograph book strap/bookmark idea....that's brilliant!

PS Margaret now almost 23 months.... (she's almost TWO!) really knows who Mickey is finally! She says it more like "minnie" but she points to him anytime she she's him, I changed purses a few weeks bag to my usual fall-winter bag that has a big picture of MM on it, and then the other day I had a Mickey shirt on and she kept pointing to it and saying "minnie" and then would dig thru her toy bin and find the squeezie MM and friends toys we got down there in June....for a Disney Freak Mom like me it's golden almost as exciting as anticipating the First "I love You!"

Have a super Dis Day!:wizard:

At some point this evening (or Monday morning) I hope to meet up with MrsKSomeday (Tracy) for a drink.

We are going to be at 'Ohana's that evening, but early. Maybe we can hop a monorail to DHS and take the boat to the Boardwalk area and meet up if it isn't too late? I think we can find a way to make it work. Our plans for the 27th in the morning are flexible too.

'K. I'm still working my way through all of your posts and I saw where you mentioned that you organized your room but was wondering if you could elaborate more on that.

DH thrashes the hotel room when we are anywhere for any length of time. We were always running up and down the stairs in our Garden Suite because he had moved stuff. It didn't really bug me since we had tons of space in the room but I'm going to be dying at WL. Plus, when he thrashes the room, he misplaces my stuff AND his and then I get grouchy having to tear the room apart looking for it.

Sorry for such a long explanation. I really would just like to know what method you use.

We really enjoy it over there....so much to do and see (and eat). We once got to watch a wedding ceremony.

With this plan I don't have to stress if we have airport delays. I think there are a couple of benches over there with our names on them :lmao:

I don't go to the parks the first day anymore.....in fact we don't go to a park until day 3 this trip!

I can't believe Margaret is almost two! Where has the time gone???? Thanks for stopping by, I know you're super busy.

You just got me even more excited about staying at the Boardwalk!
Make sure you take a picture sitting in the huge couch in the foyer!

We'll figure it out....that Sunday. Hopefully you won't be sick of DISers by the end of your vacation :lmao:

Basically it's just the concept that everything has a home and items need to be returned to their home if you remove them. Here are a couple things I do.

+ I make a kitchen area near the fridge.....so all snacks, napkins etc. go here.

+ I bring little plastic baskets for my make-up and beauty products...this keeps the counter neat.

+Shoes go by the door

+I bring a mesh laundry basket for dirty clothes.

+ We use the dresser drawers for our clothes....luggage gets tucked away.

+When I get my shopping packages from the resort delivery service....I put the bags in the luggage so it doesn't clutter the room.....I shopping a lot at Disney :rolleyes1

+This year I bought the Frebez shoe organizer to hang in the bathroom area....the pockets are really big and I plan to use it for Liam's diaper supplies among other things

+And I have 2 pop-up basket things. I'll use one for Liam's toys and the other as needs arise.

Heidi, I really hope you take lots of pictures of how you organize your hotel room. I am very intrigued on how you explained it. :worship:

Let's get caught up....

Day 18. I did nothing for the trip because Liam and I went to MA to visit my friend and her newborn daughter. We did have a quick discussion on the new DVD releases for this month and the fact that I have never seen Sleepy Beauty. I plan to buy it while in WDW.

Day 17
I think I slept most of this day because I wasn't feeling well. I've been having some seriously weird Disney dreams that last few weeks.

Day 16 I spent most of the night re-doing my touring plans for AK. It just wasn't working the way it was. I asked DH "if we can only go to 2 out of 3 shows, which 2 do you want to go to?...Nemo, FOLK and Flights of Wonder?" I barely finished my question when he shouted out "Nemo!".

Day 15 I was on the computer all day updating my plans, schedules and cutting and pasting menus. Everything is now FINAL. Any changes will be made when we get there based on what is ACTUALLY going on......

Day 14 I printed everything that I could at home (I have to print the UG touring plans with my color laser at work). My trip binder is lean and mean! I removed anything that didn't need to travel to Florida with us and organized all the new pages. I printed on both sides of the paper anytime I could to reduce bulk. I organized my file o'fax that holds all my daily plans. (I'll try to take pictures so you can understand what I'm doing better).

Day 13 (Today) I hope to get some packing done today. And I want to do a couple more posts here today. I have the Halloween costume pictures taken so those can be uploading. And I need to give you our Day 2 Intinerary.

Enjoy the Holiday if you have it off!

Can't wait to finally see those costumes!!

My vote is for FOTLK - you've seen it before, right? Nemo is great too. I haven't seen Flights of Wonder. Aren't there birds flying all over? Alex would be totally freaked out! :scared1:

Can't wait to see your binder either!

Wow! I would like to see the new lean and mean trip binder! :lmao:

I would also like to see your touring plans of AK -- that's always a hard one to plan for!

I've seen FOTLK everytime I've been to AK. I love that show and think Liam would love it too. We have seen Nemo once.....a couple weeks after it first opened. We were really impressed by it. We have not seen Flights of Wonder yet....it's know planned near the end of the day so depending on the time we will either see it or take the train to that Conservation Station.

I'll have to scan the AK tourin plan for you. I'm all about the animals at AK!

We're not planning on going to MNSSHP (unless Mickey himself gives us free tickets) but we are planning on taking Liam to Downtown Disney to go Trick or Treating on Halloween night. I figured we should all dress up but it had to be simple, cheap and something that DH would wear. I love when families all do the same theme for their costumes.

1o6010-1.jpg

I will be Darby, DH will be Tigger and Liam will be Pooh. We'll be the Super Sleuths!!!

Liam gets a Disney Store costume.
1013015.jpg

I got a purple t-shirt and made the blue shirt for DH along with the hats (by the way, hats are really hard to do iron-on transfers.)

1013016.jpg

I also picked up a Buster plush and made him a Halloweenie leash.

Heidi,

I must give you a :thumbsup2 on the room organization ideas....I am all about that too.

The pop up laundry basket is always a must and we too put our clothes in the drawers basically till the 2nd to last day. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who packs little baskets or such for the tolitries in the bathroom.

Souvenirs, I didn't put all in the suitcases imediately, but had the one bag that was carry-on going down in the closet and I just put everything in as we bought it.

I'm a neat freak at home, why would it be any other way at Disney....;)

Glad to see the costumes. So CUTE! PLEASE make sure someone takes a pictures of you 3 together! You are the craftiest Mom I know. just love it.

If we could ever have gone to WDW during halloween time, we would have done the whole Peter Pan theme....Margaret as Tink, Aldine as Wendy, Michael as Peter, Mae as the Indian Princess (her name is escaping me....) and then DH would be Hook and I would be a Lost boy? didn't leave the best for me huh?

Anyways it sounds and pre-looks great! super slueth clever!

Scrappie

Oh and yes it is very scary my baby is almost 2! not a baby anymore.:sad1:
