PTR - First Time to WDW Jan15

Hey

We will also be doing a WDW trip in January, we leave Sydney on the 19th, so our dates will cross over so we might see you around!!! We will even be at Epcot the same day, 22nd I believe, but we will be doing a split day with Downtown Disney.

Your plan seems great so far! Is this your first trip to Disney World??

Shannon

I saw the park hours too!! It's all getting exciting now! I booked our Universal package today and am hanging out for mid-July when I am hoping they release the Disney packages.

What ADRs are you thinking about?

No real idea yet. We won't be doing all that many though. Maybe Mama Melroses at HS ( for Fantasmic reserved seating), a couple at DTD (Raglan Road, House of Blues, etc, hard to pick), and 1 each at Epcot & MK. We are happy with CS most of the time.

Yep, first trip to WDW, very exciting :cool1:
I am actually going to change our plan around, now that I have the EasyWDW and recommendations for Jan. Think we will do Disney the first week, and then Universal for 3 days the second week, and then back to Disney for our last day, still very much a work in progress though

Have just got back today from a fantastic week long ski holiday here in NZ. While we were away the 180 day ADR window ticked over for our WDW holiday in Jan15. So I am very much looking forward to making some bookings in the next day or two. Recommendations anyone? :)

Park, resort or other?

MK - I really like Liberty Tree Tavern. I know it's not for everyone. I also like Crystal Palace for an early breakfast. Otherwise, good luck getting a BoG reservation.

Epcot - Chefs de France. Anything in Mexico (but that's me). Rose and Crown.

Animal Kingdom - Yak and Yeti, Tusker House (another favourite for an early breakfast)

DHS - Hollywood Brown Derby

DTD - Raglan Road, Wolfgang Puck, Fulton's Crab House

Have fun!

My favourites were 50's Prime Time and Biergarten (both for the atmosphere ) and Crystal Palace (for access to MK before opening).

I also really liked Yak and Yeti (for the food) Tusker House breakfast (for the characters) and Sanaa (for food and views).

I enjoyed every dining experience I had at WDW, but probably would only return to the 5 above. Others I enjoyed, but probably wouldn't eat at again in favour of trying somewhere new, were Sci-Fi Diner, BOG (lunch), Boma (breakfast and dinner), Ohana, San Angel Inn, Raglan Road and T-Rex.

Not sure how much help that was, but good luck getting your preferences. If you want Crystal Palace breakfast before MK opens, book asap. It and Ohana were tricky to get.

Thanks for the recommendations :)

This evening I have booked:

Sci Fi for an early dinner
Crystal Palace for a late breakfast

So many choices.....

Congrats on making the first ADRs.

Like Wanderlust, I enjoyed Sci Fi and have chosen to experience other establishments first before I head back.

Enjoy the decision making. :thumbsup2

So our trip has now moved forwards to Oct14!

And we are now staying at the Sheraton Vistana Resort - Lake Buena Vista
Only 10 weeks away :cool1:

That's cool Caroline. Less time to wait is always a good thing.

I will update the Sep/Oct thread when I'm not on my iPad.

Oh you luck thing!! Wish ours wasn't so far away. Will be waiting eagerly for your trip report ;D

10 day WDW waterparks and more tickets have arrived from UCT. I have linked them in MDE, and now I just have to wait for the 30 day window to try and get some Fastpasses that work for us ( no chance for A&E or 7DMT unless I happen to be looking at the time someone cancels, but sounds like most other rides will have availability fingers crossed)

Hope you get 7DMT at least!
