PTR-Cheating on Mickey w/Harry!...OMG! Only a month to go!

Thank you! The thing is that I don't want make her go if she is miserable. She is currently miserable and it's just awful to watch her. It's not so much the wounds on her leg (though they hurt), but her hands are starting to stiffen up so that she can't grip things. Her fingers barely bend, and she is taking so much morphine that she's been asleep all afternoon since I got home. That's no way to be at Disneyworld.

Very true. She should enjoy her time at WDW, not spend the trip suffering from pain. Hopefully they will find a solution for her to relieve the pain and also help the wound continue to heal correctly. I feel so bad for the two of you...after everything you have been through, you deserve a wonderful relaxing vacation.

Sorry to hear, hopefully the Drs can play well together and bring her some relief.

I hope the doctors can find a solution. That just sounds miserable. I agree, no way to be at Disneyworld.

I also have my fingers crossed that tomorrow the doctors can come up with a solution for Fran. That they can figure out a treatment plan where her wounds heal completely and her pain from the RA can be eliminate as much as possible. Sending positive thoughts your way. Be sure to let us know how things go.

I just finished catching up on your PTR/side trip. WOW, WOW is all I can come up with. Well I could use other adjectives, but I really would be taking the chance of getting a point. :rotfl: I was really far behind so I have enjoyed all the information on the new lounge, your photos of RSR, Carsland and your awesome experience at your 45 anniversary dinner. The history and stories, the food and drinks :thumbsup2 You create such a experience for us all…it is like we experienced it in person. Thank you Alison.

I really would like to try the Brown Derby drink you had, the mix of bourbon, grapefruit juice and honey sounds super to me. I enjoy a good wine, but also love this type of drink.

I can see right now a trip in the spring to Disneyland. Hopefully the lines will be shorter then and with school in session.

Brown Derby - Jigger of bourbon, half-jigger of grapefruit juice, teaspoon or so of honey (stir 'em all together before you add the ice)

Just when ever.... I know it is all good!:drive:

Can you PM me your mailing address again? We are heavy into shipping stuff lately as we are closing down our online music store. We're sellling everything off at like 70% off on eBay under a variety of screen names that have nothing to do with our retail store, so I'm going to the post office pretty much every day now. Boy was it a headache to catch up after last weekend! :faint:

Thanks, and Bonnie, oh and I forgot to mention, if your niece (is that right?) needs any music, I'll send it to you gratis as long as you pay the shipping. We have TONS of saxophone music, from method books, to solos, to fun stuff like "Play along with CDs". Check out our store at www.windmusicplus.com and send me an email through the "contact us" email link with anything you like. If we have it in stock, I'll send it to you. We are going to need to box up everything next month and take it down the stairs so that we can turn the apartment that was the office into a regular apartment. We'll MAKE $1600 per month on it instead of lose something like $2500 per month! So if I can get the stuff to go to a good home instead of boxing it to sell on eBay over the next 10 years, I'm gonna do it. Our friends are going to make out very well on some free music in the next couple months!

Thanks for all your happy thoughts. I really hope that there is something they can give her other than the "atomic bomb to the immune system" that might help her feel better. We are in a Catch 22, her immune system needs to be at the top of it's game to heal the venal ulcers, but if it is at the top of it's game, it attacks her joints and causes massive pain. :headache:

So check it out, today Fran actually got a smile to come to her face! I mentioned on the Old Fogies thread that we were picking up a Disney case that she had bought on eBay. She found it before we went on the Destination D weekend thing and the guy actually called me the day before we were leaving to arrange for pick up, but I couldn't deal with it then, just too much, so we put it off.

Earlier in this week I called him to see when we could work out a convenient time and today at 2PM worked out, luckily Jim and Darcy were available, so we rented a U-haul and went over there to pick this up. OMG! It was sooooooo heavy and fragile, getting it into the truck was one thing, but once we got back we didn't have the guy and his mother (who sold it) to help us get it out!

While loading, we're looking how to brace the thing and the guy had a bunch of tires in his yard and Darcy is all, "Hey, what about those tires?" so he gave us two tires to brace the cabinet against the wheel wells in the truck so it didn't slide around! :lmao: Then they start looking around for pillows and anything else they can give us. Now mind you, we did bring about five blankets, some clean "puppy pads", and about a dozen bungee cords to help secure the thing, but it was over six feet tall. To get it out of their garage the mother had to get a broom to hold the sectional garage door up high enough for us to get it through the opening! :rotfl2:

There were also four HEAVY glass shelves that needed to be wrapped in blankets, and secured so they wouldn't move. Jim did a very professional job of bungeeing the dolly to the walls so it wouldn't fall on the case or roll around. Getting it out at our house was an ordeal, but actually took more mind work time than labor.

Anyways here is our new case (that will be moved by professional movers to our new home when we build the second story on top of her father's house on 1st st a block from Ocean Blvd.)

When I think of the prices that the display cases they sold at the Expo last year (though they did have Ursula on them). We got a deal at about $600 plus moving costs.

That's fantastic!

I think it goes without saying that we'll want to see the picture of it complete with items inside!!!

That is a very nice case Alison that Fran bought. It will be very nice to see what you and Fran will put in it. I did check on eBay about the case and see that it is very nice. Hope you and Fran enjoy the case.

Well that will be sometime! We have to write the architechtural plans, clear it with the city, get the building permits, throw out the current tenants and then start building. It will be a few years, but we're gonna get started on it before the end of the year. Building a second story is quite a feat, but it will be awesome! I wonder if it will happen before my 50th? Probably not, but you never know. Fran thinks it will! If it did I could have my party there and Napa Rose and not have to rent a Grand Villa!

It's beautiful :) have you decided what you'll display inside?

Considering that we have enough Disney figurines to fill 20+ cabinets like that, I have no idea! The question is do we ONLY put WD Classics Collection figures in that one or whatever we please?

She showed it to me and normally I look at stuff she wants to buy and roll my eyes, but when I saw that one, I was like, "YES! We HAVE to have that one!"

Her father has a house on Ocean Blvd? Where on Ocean Blvd? I could live the rest of my days on Ocean Blvd!

OK, I don't know what kind of pixie dust I was smoking when I wrote Ocean Blvd. His house us on 1st st a block north of Ocean! We might have an obstructed view through the houses on Ocean through our second story, or from the roof, if we have some kind of terrace, but I must have been dreaming when I wrote that! :lmao: besides Ocean is too busy a street to have cats that go outside. 1st street is much more peaceful and calm!

Her father has a house a block from Ocean Blvd? I could still spend the rest of my days in a house a block from Ocean Blvd! :teeth: Is Mums still there and L'Opera? Seriously neato!

His (well now, our) house is at 1st and Lindero. That's one block east of the Long Beach museum of art that is on the bluff overlooking the Queen Mary.

L'Opera is there but we haven't been there in years. Never heard of Mums. Last night we had dinner at the Prospector.

Alison, thank you so much for the offer about the music! Right now my nieces are spending the week with their dad (the older one is learning alto sax). Sarah is going into middle school in a couple of weeks, and the idea is to learn sax now so she can audition for band. The band at her middle school travels all over an they have won several competitions! We're not sure yet if she will be playing sax or clarinet, or even entering chorus (she took singing lessons for a few years too and she also played the clarinet all last year in school). Can I let you know as soon as I know? It may be a few weeks though, or even more, not sure exactly. Do you also have clarinet music so I can keep that in mind as well? Again, thank you so much for mentioning this, it is very thoughtful. I would love to surprise her with some music once we know exactly what she is doing at her new school. :goodvibes

We have music for any wind instruments. I'd be happy to send you both alto sax AND clarinet music. My biggest thing is that I'd like to see it go to a good home without it costing ME anything to get it there. By offering to give it way to nice people who would pay the shipping that saves us (in the long run) having seek out places to donate it to and having to store it. We need to get everything out of that apartment so that the contractor can start making it into a nice new apartment that someone wants to pay a lot of money to rent. We can't do that until everything is out of it!

I love the Disney case and I vote you can put whatever you want in it.:thumbsup2
