The only thing that we know about her recovery is that she will never leave a Skilled Nursing Facility. Assisted Living isn't even an option. Today we moved all the furniture that we loaned her back to our storage locker. Her "son" is coming tomorrow and hopefully as the executor of her will and the fact that she is incapacitated can get a POA to take over her finances. He's also going to go through her posessions and possibly take some stuff back home, but we might want him to leave some things like the bed and a few chairs and stuff so that the people who come to town to visit have a place to stay.

Yes and no. While it's callous to say, her life is ever changed. If she had problems with accepting her limitations before, what is she going to be like when she realizes that she will live in a facility for the rest of her life? We just learned that after 90 days all her social security benefits go to the facility. She will basically be broke.

My father suffered a major stoke 6 years ago. This is his exact situation. His benefits go to the facility with a $30 credit each month. It's tough for sure. He's in Anaheim.

So I wonder what they will give her, do you know what his benefit was prior to his move there? She might not even get that much. Luckily her ex-husband pays her $150 a month so she will have enough money for a cell phone.

Arline's daughter flies in tomorrow and I told her that while we can pick up the costs of her flight we can't shuttle her around. Especially since we're leaving after the "family conference" Wednesday.
