So at this point, I'm guessing we can plan on the October trip. Unless something really terrible happens in the next two months, we can plan my F&W events on this trip. I am really happy about this because there has not been a lot of happy in my life recently.

Thanks for your prayers. Hey Bret, you are giving me a great segway into some good news for the October trip. We are in Florida from October 8-18

The plan is Fly from LAX October 8

Stay Loew's Royal Pacific October 8-10
Check into VWL October 10-12
Check into BCV October 12-17
Back to VWL October 17-18. I hope that my waitlist comes through so that we can just stay at BCV the whole time, but if not I won't worry, it will just mean that we have less packing to do the last night because we did the night before for our transfer.

Originally we were going to stay the 10-20 but changed it with the Gay Games celebration at HoB, so we come in two days earlier and are leaving two days earlier.

The good news is that the Wound Care Nurse told us that with the way her wounds are proceeding, even though she may possibly have Vasculitis involved, that because I have been able to master wound care, our vacation options have opened up. If I can do the basic wound care that I have been doing over the last week. So the nurse told us there is no reason that we can't take our vacations we have planned. The only thing is that Fran needs to take it easy and rest during the day and I need to be able to potentitally change her bandages if she needs it. We have always taken it easy, on our trips, she needs time in the room to rest, that is why I'm able to post some stuff live while we are away. Otherwise as long as we can check in every other week or so, we can take trips.

As far as Arline goes, she is in our prayers. We will see how things go one day at a time.

I have been to WDW in almost every different season except for the Halloween season and the F&W festival at EPCOT. I would love to go to the F&W festival to try those different countries food.

That did make sense to cut your trip down by two days because of Gay Games Celebration.

Well for those who have not already heard, Arline's concussion was too much for her brain and she began showing signs of neuropathy yesterday. We had a conference with the Doctor who was following her, Social Worker, Nurse, Chaplain and our Doctor. Pretty much the only option was to remove her from life support. Once I had made all the arrangements to verify that none of the family wanted to be present or see her one last time, I gave the go ahead to Dr. J and she has made arrangements for the ventilator to be taken out at 2:30 today.

I can mention this on the DIS and it will help to get my frustrations out since I can't in real life. I found out what killed her this morning. We spent several months making her apartment HA. We put in a ramp, put special bars on the toilet, got her a fallen and can't get up alarm, all kinds of things. We gave her a garage in the back of the building so that she could enter from the rear of the building where there were no stairs, and told her to stay away from any steps at the building.

Well when my laundry boy came over to work with Arline Sunday, they needed detergent. So when they returned to the building, they came in via the front, where the steps with no railing are! Lo and behold she fell backward onto the sidewalk. The neighbor came running to help her up, and once they got her inside the apartment, Arline told them not to tell us about the fall. Evidently her words were, "I'm not bleeding, there is nothing wrong with me." Well not bleeding where anyone could see! Why didn't these IDIOTS tell us????????????

Something may have been possible to do had we known in time, not 24 hours later! Our Doctor says that we come to this earth to accomplish certain things and once we do that we leave. She said that Arline accomplished what she set out to do and that's why she made the decisions that she did. It still doesn't make sense to me but what can we do. Thank God, I'm not the executor of her estate. He is picking up a copy of her will after 1PM today and coming down over the weekend. We are getting a U-haul tomorrow and putting all the furniture that we loaned her back into storage. We're going to take the cat trees, televisions, furniture, and stuff we got her at a yard sale and let Patrick deal with the rest of it.

Head injuries have killed people like Natasha Richardson and Sonny Bono, because they do not think they are serious when they really are. If Arline knew the impending danger, she would have reached out for help. So Sorry again for everything. I will keep praying for solice for you and Fran.

I just hope she doesn't find him shacked up with his first wife! If I can't laugh at tragedy, how will I stay sane?

I know. We couldn't have done anything. It was more for me than the rest of you. I needed somewhere to air my frustration without upsetting Fran further.

Thanks ladies, however amazingly enough Arline continued to breathe on her own. She took some sips of water this morning and so the Doctor moved her out of hospice and into rehab. They are going to do a temporary feeding tube since she can't eat or drink enough to give her strength for recovery. If she doesn't show any progress in a few weeks, she'll be placed back on hospice. But for now I guess they will start light therapy, seeing if she can move her body parts, one side has less mobility than the other due to the brain injury.
