PTR-Cheating on Mickey w/Harry!...OMG! Only a month to go!

I am sorry to hear the update on Fran. That is terrible. I feel like I should just keep her in my regular prayers. She is really going through a lot and can probably use as many as she can get. Hopefully, everything goes as well as it can this time. If you do have to cancel the trip, I hope you do it farther in advance to avoid the points in the holding. If it is at all possible, I am hoping you take this trip and the one with the gamers next year.

Thank you! I think she needs it.

Hi there!!! I miss reading your thread, and all your fabulous photos! Great pics as always!!!! So happy for you that you are in the double digits for your trip. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I just hope that we actually GET to take this trip! Two months from today and I'm canceling it if she's not ready.

Alison, so sorry to read about Fran, how has everything been this week?

Thanks again for the D&B...I love it....

I love the Black and White dishes, and silverware.

Glad you like it, I got your mail today. Aren't the dishes cool? I can't wait to make something in that casserole! It might be the holidays before I get to it the way things are going!

Not so pleasant news indeed. I would hate for you to have to postpone another trip, but if Fran is unable to enjoy it.... I know I keep saying it, but you guys have just been through the wringer lately.

Are you thinking of making a decision about it soon, or will you give it a while before deciding on whether or not to postpone? On one hand it might be better not to get your hopes up for them to be dashed to the ground again, but on the other, hope can be a really good thing.

On a lighter note, your necklace is just beautiful. How fabulous they still had one. :) any pictures of the other two you recently bought?

I think they are both in this thread but way back, I bought the one in January of 2011 and the other one at the Expo last summer. I can post them again....

Let me know if you ever find the serving stuff because my set only had the dinner and salad forks, knives, soup spoons and regular spoons. Why is it we can start with a full set for 16 and be down to half that in no time at all. I swear the kids toss them in the trash instead of the sink sometimes.

I'll have to look next time we go back. I would KILL the kids if they tossed my silverware in the trash. Oh yeah my kids don't eat with silverware and at the present time, I only entertain outside with plastic because I really don't let people into our hoarders house, to see what it looks like. Someday we will clean it up get new carpet and let guests back in. Either that or we'll add a second story onto her father's place and gut this one for tenants!

Around here we call that Op Tempo, and I live by it most of the time, I never know what each day will bring.

Hope your days get easier and that you handle the wound care with flying colors!

 please let me know if I can do anything.

I'll go on a thread hunt to see if I can find them, I must have missed them since I thought for certain I read from the beginning.

Thanks I did the dressing change successfully today. The nurse at the wound care center seemed to think I would be doing this for several weeks. Yippie! At least I now know I'm capable of doing this.

What are you looking for?

Is insurance not providing the wound care center or home care anymore?

The lovely pendants.

I think the nurses are already overworked at the WCC and didn't want to have to add a daily dressing change, plus she would not have someone to do it on Saturdays and Sundays.

If she wants to be eligible for Home Health Care, then she can't drive. That's the criteria Medicare uses. She has a 1PM standing appointment for the daptomyiacin at the hospital that she has to drive to. If she did home health she would have to wait around all day for them, and if they found out she was driving to her infusion they would drop her. It just made sense for me to learn how to do it, as much as I don't want to.

And just go back a couple pages for necklace #3!

So anyone following our points, we have (had) 203 in holding. Well I convinced Fran that we should take a couple nights of "hotel points" to go out there (DLR), and just let me chill. Even though Fran will still have to go back to Los Alamitos for her infusions, she agreed to two nights out at the GC hotel. We didn't use our points for the Conceirge level because we are hoping we will get the same upgrade that we have in the past, but all they had was a Premium Pool or Park view. So its's 130 points, we have like 73 left to either gift or whatever to folks who can use them or perhaps compensate us for them.

We booked July 25 & 26 which convenientlys conincide with the 45th anniversary nights of the club dinners. Tomorrow at 9AM is the Call in and we hope to go on the 26th, so it would work out nicely if we get that night. The scuttlebutt says that many of the members are not interested in the dinner because of the high price tag, but we know that it will be worth it. So we might not have a problem with getting in.

It will be nice to check in on Wednesday after her infusion, we'll just sort of enjoy the resort/Carsland at night and have a leisurly evening. Thursday I will have a game plan, FPs for RSRs perhaps three, two instant and one with my admission card for later in the day. She will need to go her infusion at 1PM, but I will hope to hit the 1901 lounge at some point either the night before or on Thursday before dinner.

The evening is Semi Formal, so the only option for Fran is a Tux and I will wear the outfit I planned for V&A's on our May trip. We will have plenty of good food and drink that night and end up checking out at 11AM Friday so she can make her 1PM infusion. We'll see how up to RSR FPs I feel after the 45th Anniversary dinner. I was VERY happy leaving the 40th anniversary dinner. They had the chocolate fountain and beverages were flowing liberally. I remember that I was embarrased to go get more molten chocolate, so the new friends we met went to the fountain and brought me a coffee mug of the chocolate along with marshmallows, strawberries and other fruits while I ordered more glasses of wine! Good times were had by all!

Yay for getting a couple of nights in at the GC and another fab dinner to look forward to.:thumbsup2

The chocolate sounds heavenly!

That sounds wonderful, Alison. Hopefully, you get another lovely upgrade to concierge. I cannot wait to read about your evening and see your review of the new club once you two go in there. Who knows? I kept our names on the waiting list. If it takes a few years for our names to be called, there is an outside chance we could actually afford it. After seeing how long Crap stood in line for RSR fastpasses, the instant fastpasses alone will be worth being members. I have a feeling you will get to use the rest of your points in holding. Here's to another quick trip there in the near future. Love to see that your ka-chow from earlier today had a great meaning. Have fun at Cars Land.

Yeah, they have this amazing chocolate fountain that they used to have out at all the lunches, but then the CA health dept came in said they had to have some kind of "spit screen", Kimberly, Crap probably knows about this from his food background, so they stopped having it at regular seatings. However, I guess due to food laws at "Private events" they can have the chocolate fountain. So whenever they have Member event and the fountain is there I am all over it, marshmallows, strawberries, pineapple, I get a big ole bowl of chocolate and sit there for the last part of the night dipping my fruit and stuff in the bowl of swiss chocolate because I will not get this chance otherwise and it is so luxurious I have to take advantage!

I don't know if we'll actually use the rest of the points just because we are already staying 3 nights in August for Destination -D but we'll see. I have some deserving friends, so maybe I'll ask them. I hope they upgrade us to concierge, and then we won't need much else for dining since we have the big dinner that I hope we get for Thursday. I'm glad you kept your name on the list, you never know once it comes up.

Crap likes to eat food and is a pretty good cook when he does cook for me (which is rare). He has never worked directly in the food industry. He does work in the hospitality and gaming industry, so he does know stuff about all of the different functions. I asked him if he knew why the fountain was removed. His assumption is that is a local regulation in Anaheim, because he has not heard anything about it. The fountain sounds wonderful though. I would be all over that as well.

I think it will be an awesome trip. I am not sure what Destination D is, but I am all for it if it gives you another Disney trip. Fingers crossed on getting everything you want. If you are unable to use your points, I hope you are able to give/sell them.

I'm so glad you'll be getting a little respite. :goodvibes :thumbsup2 and where better than Disney?! And you won't lose your points!

Destination D is like an intense Disney seminar, it goes from Saturday morning (early, but we paid big bucks to not have to get in line at 5AM like the other crazy people) until about 10PM Saturday night, and the same on Sunday. We get lunch and dinner breaks. I will probably fix us meals in the Villa while Fran rests. Since we have guaranteed seats we won't have to do like the last two (which is leave the morning session and get right back in line for the afternoon) so we will have a little more relaxed pace. The following Monday we get a tour of the Disney studios. I'll probably do a TR on the DL boards and post a link here.

Here is the glorious chocolate fountain. One set of pics is from the Scavenger Hunt in 2010 and the other is NYE 2010/2011.

:thumbsup2 for getting a couple nights respite. Hope things work out for Fran.

Yeah, we got in this morning for the Thursday night, just like we wanted, so it should be fun. We'll see how I do in a regular hotel room. It's been a long time since I've stayed in one of those!

I LOVE chocolate fountains! We actually own a small one! It is such a pain to clean, but it is also very worth it. I was on a cruise last summer (Norwegian Cruise Line) and there was a chocoholic buffet. They had 2 chocolate fountains (one milk and one dark), but they both had this huge shield around them and a server who was spooning the chocolate onto people's plates. With those crowds, I can't even imagine how gross it would be if they didn't do it that way! :stir:

Thanks so much for the links, they are gorgeous! I most definitely missed the smaller one, so will go back and see what else I missed.

And oh my am I lusting after the amount of points you have  I am getting so impatient about these Grand Floridian Villas. I want to know how much they're going to be so I can plan how many I want. DVC has made me a monster!

Oh, that's right, they do have the no driving rule. You can go to the beauty shop and church but otherwise must stay home. I've met quite a few patients who push it until they're caught, which seems to be rare, but I think I would always feel on edge.

How lovely you are able to squeeze in a few days of relaxation. And if course what a fabulous coincidence about the meal. That mug of chocolate looks divine!

I noticed that all the Japanese buffets in our area are getting them and they don't have screens, these two events were limited in numbers. Probably 125 people or less and they are considered private events, so I guess the health police don't come out.

It must be something specific to Anaheim or even Disney as it doesn't seem to be a problem in Long Beach.
