Well, I'm not 100% sure what was wrong, but I think it came down to the manual transfer switch not being completely turned and the contacts weren't completely seated causing a poor connection. I retightented a lot of connections and then flipped the transfer switch and it came to life. So looks like all is good.

I'm back in business.

It took about 15 min reading on the error and about an hour under the trailer, so not too bad.

I'd rather not repair anything. I'm too good at being lazy to not show off my skills.

However, if I have to chase anything on repairs though, I'd prefer electrical over the chassis, carpentry, and especially plumbing any day of the week.

We are visiting our new nephew in OK this weekend. We spent the morning in Tulsa's Gathering Place. It is an impressive park. Some landscape architect died and went to heaven on this project. The kids had fun bombing through the park playing with my niece.


We hit up Chick-fil-a and now it's nap time for the littles. Maybe we'll hit the playground in the neighborhood when they wake up.

I was a little quiet the last few weeks. Work is really busy, but also my mom passed. Lots of sadness and getting funeral arrangements in order. I'm heading home in a few days for her funeral. It stings, but she's not miserable anymore (had rapidly declining dementia).

I did take the rig on a solo trip to attend an engineer conference on the other side of KC from me. It was a nice reprieve to get away from the daily grind of the office and to have some solitude in the evening to reflect on Mom.

I stayed at Blue Spring Campground on Blue Springs Lake @tiggerdad and @southalabame5er, a real good possibility for you on your way through. Really nice CG.

I didn't get a good shot of the rig, but here's what I did take:






When I was pulling in to register at the booth, this guy was getting set up.

The amount of work to make that happen is incredible. Maybe you could stretch your Yukon, Ed and mount the Aliner on the back.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Glad she isn't suffering any more. Dementia is hard on everyone.

Looks like you had a nice stay. This past weekend was our last hurrah for this season. Winterized everything (first time making pink ice and running a load of laundry with pink water). Going to get her washed tonight and then into storage with a new cover until January.

I liked my trip to Korea in April… was cool seeing all the food they had at the hotel buffet….enjoy! (especially the “no idea” stuff… lol)

With some down time at the holidays, it's time to finally catch up on blogging and such. I was working on filling in our travel map (all the places we've visited in a RV...have more travels before RV life). The arc across from AZ to FL is interesting.


We can't wait to blow our the corners soon. I hope to have way more flexibility with work in a few years.

I did the northern trip when I was 16 and the southern 2 years later. Not camping though. Your plans have really brought back great memories. Looking forward to when the wife and I are retired for good so we can go. In our own coach at a leisurely pace. I really want her to experience all of the cool stuff I got to do back then.
The trip sounds awesome! Enjoy!

Yes, ready to get to a point with flexibility with work to see more of the country. 2 weeks here. 3 days there isn't cutting it. I think I have DW convinced to snowbird when the kids are out of the school and I find a job that gives me some mobility in where my office is.

Both of us can work remote now as long as we have good connectivity. Having done it on the road it's still a pain. Well for me at least. I want to see and do stuff, not be stuck at the table working. It's like being at home with different scenery out the window. But hey, I'm only a couple months away or sooner. She's got two years, but she can work while we're moving. I just can't work and drive.
I can't wait till yall are reporting on the trip as you go. Probably a lot of "woo hoo! I been there, I been there too". I'm sure some of it has changed in the last 40 years. Not the rock stuff of course, but places like Wall drug. I'll be following along and living vicariously through you guys!

I understand the same job different scenery thoughts. My COVID teleworking time gave me a lot to chew on. Like, we can't do that with kids around still. I was the family IT guy while I was still trying to do my job. Either way, I wouldn't mind the ability to change my view out my window. Right now the view from my desk is a cubicle farm. I can do better than that on my own.

I'm ready for the trip to Yellowstone too. DW went as a kid, but I haven't made it yet. The kids are a perfect age to hit some good hikes. Not sure we're going to hit Wall Drug again this trip, though we'll be close trying to get the ticketed tour for Minuteman Missile NHS. It's going to be a heck of a trip.

Well, I'm excited for you an the family. I've been working remotely for over 7 years now. I just remember being stuck inside in front of the computer while my wife went to the pool! Oh well...
I'm almost 62 and I still remember those trips fondly.

I got a no hook up site in Colter Bay Campground in Grand Tetons, after trying for 4 days. The people in my office were confused about that I was cheering at the start of the day (not a morning person).

I'm going to keep an eye out for a hook up spot, but at least I have the location in the park that I wanted.

My summer CG reservations are finally locked in after starting about 6 months ago.
