I have an interview at Target for a PT job...I do already work a FT job...anyone have any tips for the interview? Do you think a dress is too much?

If you really want the job, I think it would be in your best interest to dress professionally (so yes a dress would be fine).

Be confident when answering all questions! Good luck!

Be willing to work evenings and weekends, especially Sundays. Sounds obvious enough, but you'd be surprised. In fact it's an automatic no if you can't work Sundays (at least at my store)

Also you will fill out an availability sheet. Make sure it is one you can commit to, because it cannot be changed for your 1st 90 days. After you've been there awhile it's more flexible, especially if you prove to be a good employee, but the first 90 days are tough, as they are usedto lots of people who quit.

Interview is nothing to sweat about. There are actually 2 interviews and the first is done by a Team-lead... A step below management. The questions are all premade on the computer... Nothing too outstanding. Just dress "tidy" and take it seriously, even if it feels like a joke. Remember they deal with a lot of 1st timers or hard-to-employee sort of folks, and interview to the lowest denominator.

Yep...willing to work Sundays, ...evenings and weekends, basically. Thanks for the tips.

I worked there in high school and college - great place for a PT job! I worked in softlines after I was cashier trained. I just had one interview, with the HR person, and was hired on the spot, pending a drug test. I'd say a dress is fine - you can almost never over-dress for an interview! At my store, it was nights, Saturdays, and Sunday mornings that were most important. Good luck!

Just thought it was interesting yesterday that the person from Target told me that since Wednesday, they've completed 800 interviews...I guess it is a sign of the times.

Did you have your interview yet? I was just going to say not to forget to smile, shake hands, make brief and interested eye contact, and appear to be energetic (but not overly so). :)
