Continuing on with the many misadventures of my MIL:

This time around, I am offering a couple of short stories.

Being of the male persuasion, I am not fully understanding of the proper care of perm’ed hair. Some of you will understand, some probably not. Anyway, many years ago when all of my SIL’s were small, they all had spiral perms. On this particular morning, MIL was getting all the girls ready for school. Part of the morning ritual was spraying the SIL’s hair with water and then gel it. – sure, sounds normal to me –
She had a small bottle with a trigger that sprayed a fine mist of water.
FIL was working the night shift at the time and got off work early. This is something that never happens with his job. So, he parks the truck and walks in the house like he always does, not making a sound.
MIL was in the bathroom spraying hair and talking with her children. FIL walks down the hall and turns the corner into the bathroom. MIL takes the water bottle, points it at FIL and starts pulling the trigger; giving FIL a series of sprays to the face. She didn’t stop after a few sprays, she kept spraying him hoping it would stop the “intruder.”
Startled by the spray action, FIL is screaming “Stop!” over and over again. I guess he thought it was harmful as well. She finally did stop and started laughing. FIL turned around, wiped his soaked face off and went to bed.

Recently MIL joined my wife and son on a school field trip to the always exciting Alabama capital. They had been doing the usual tours and hearing the well rehearsed stories of old. During one part of the presentation, they guide was asking questions for the CHILDREN to answer. We were all surprised when we heard that MIL did not pick up on this.
As you would expect, some of the questions were about the Civil War. Hey, we are in the South you know.
Tour guide, “Can anyone tell me who the President of the Confederate States of America was?”
Without hesitation, without blinking an eye, clearly without thinking this one through, MIL shouts out, “Alan Jackson!”
Dead silence, except for my wife. You just can’t stifle that kind of laughter. Everyone else acts like they didn’t hear her. Alan Jackson is a famous country music singer and Jefferson Davis was the confederate President.
On the bus trip home, all the excitement wore poor MIL out. She falls asleep and forgets that she is not at home. She wakes up and screams out, “I’m cold!”
The teacher was walking up the isle just as MIL got this out. MIL realizes where she is, gets embarrassed and sheepishly looks at the teacher and says. “Hey.” No eye contact, of course.

Awesome story, Kild...... Keep 'em coming. Hysterical!!!!:D

Bless her heart.....:D

MIL now knows about the DIS. Of course, she was extremely embarrased that I have posted some of her greater moments.

During the conversation, one of the girls asked her father how he put up with her for so long. His response, "I want to see what she is going to do next."

I've been running around all day and just finally sat down and decided to DIS with the hopes of finding a new MIL story to read. Thank you. :D

She sounds COLORFUL, kild!
