Hey
So my Psychology teacher has us writing a paper. About any topic as long as it somehow links back to Psych. She says to pick something your interested in. For example; a Poker player is doing the mental process and psychology of the game of poker.

My question is: Of course I LOVE Disney and anything related. Any ideas on how I could correlate the two?

Thanks

You could do the obsession that many of us have with Disney, how an obsession works related to Psychology, why an obsession is formed....

Or maybe how the magic of Disney is real. and how that works with Psychology?
:)

What about explaining some of the "tricks" Disney uses on their guests? For example the way Main Street is sloped upward just a tad, so it feels like a journey while you are walking towards the castle, but it's an easy walk towards the exit when you are tired from a day of touring. I think when Disney designs any of their attractions they take the psychology of the guests into account. That is all part of the Imagineering process.

Corysmom has a good idea with that. You could write about how an "experience" was created and the difference between a theme park and amusement park psychologically.

You could also focus on industrial psychology, or psychology of the work place. You could ask different employees (CPs on here) about their opinion of how the company works.

You could also focus on developmental psych and talk about how the characters influence children and their development.

I think it would be interesting to explore why the mother is often missing from Disney movies-usually dead.....Nemo, Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Bambi, Im certain there are others, just cant think of em right now.....interesting topic.

In case you go with Lisa's idea..there's also Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas. :goodvibes

I did this - my Psych paper was on the social interactions in the parks with characters and cast members, and how that affects autistic children, who generally have impaired social skills.

Just an idea - maybe you can come up with something off that.
