Psychology of this So Cal AP holder: Critique my plan

We're only going to go for 2 days because we plan on going again in just a couple months later, and really with an 18 mo old daughter, I'm going to be using this as a test the waters kind of trip. I'm thinking of going on Aug. 19 because it is the last day So Cal APs will be blacked out and I know I can activate it on a blackout day.

My thinking here is that at least some of the schools will be back in by then and we will be able to be there for at least one day when our fellow So Cal APs won't. Being there for a Sunday is key for us.

Is this solid thinking or would you suggest another time in the early fall to activate and why?

Sunday the 19th won't be terribly crowded, but the 20th might have some intense crowds, especially because it will be the first opportunity for the lowest of the SoCal APs to see the new additions.

But if you're planning on going a few months later, I don't think it should be a problem.

OP: have you already purchased your AP? If not, why nt go on Saturday aug 18 and Sunday August 19 using a 2 day PH and upgrade yor last day. Deluxe APs are blocked on the 18th, so it will be even quieter than the 19th. -- Suzanne

Right. I was just thinking some schools would be back in session. Totally recognizing most would still be out.

But if you're planning on going a few months later, I don't think it should be a problem.

Maybe the answer is to do DCA on the 19th and a more leisurely take it as it comes DL visit on the 20th.

Yes, we have.

We purchased the APs right before the price increase thanks to you kind folks , but if we decide to go for just one day, maybe the 18th is the answer.
