That the Magic is gone?

I don't know who is to blame, but WDW is a mess. Sure they will still be getting crowds, but the newcomers will be less repeaters, and the long timers know how bad it has become.

I strongly disagree! ;)

*whine, whine, whine*:headache:

...talk about being dramatic.

Take it from someone who just experienced their first trip...the magic is NOT gone.

In fact, I was upset at how much money we were spending on a family vacation, wasnt all that excited to go, wanted to lay in a beach somewhere and eight nights at Disney changed my entire outlook on both WDW and how I view vacations. We will be spending every vacation we can at WDW from here on out. And we are newcomers, so please don't speak for us!

Please, if you feel you can find place with more magic than Disney, visit there. I think all the negative attitudes of people whining about "lost magic" is the real issue. Not WDW, not FP+...just good ol fashion bad attitudes.

Maybe it's a personal thing. I don't mean to be offensive, just saying maybe for you personally the magic was gone, but not for another person.

There is something to that. The families I know that have gone for the first time this past year don't plan to return anytime soon if ever. We usually go every year but are put off by the current issues. We had planned to go in May and pushed it back to November.

If things don't appear to be more together by November that can get pushed again.

They know, but don't care.

Yup and yup ....

I am not sure how much this matters, I wish we had more info about what % of Disney business is repeat customers. But if a significant portion of their business is dependent on repeat customers, and their experiences are dropping off, even if some are loving it, if enough aren't, there could be major ramifications for WDW and its revenue stream.

I think the "magic" is what you make it. If you're convinced you're going to have a bad trip.. You probably will.
As for me, I can't wait for our Sept. trip :) Nothing will spoil the magic for us pixiedust:

We have always had amazing experiances when at Disney and this is going on almost 20 years of trips now. We LOVE everything about our trips from our accomodations to our meals and park experiances to even people we just stop and talk to while at the resort etc. I feel the magou and if yic lives inside you don't have it then you need to re evaluate what is important in a trip and possibly look at a different destination.

That's what I am trying to figure out here. It seems many people keep pointing out how bad it has become, but I haven't seen much of an argument besides the tiered and limited FP+, too much pre-planning etc...

I really would like to know what changes have occurred that have made the place go bad. There seems to be quite a few people that feel this way.

I do have to say though, I know more and more couples with no kids (like us) or no kids at home anymore that are going to WDW for vacation.

Food/wine is a big draw and the flower festival is now starting to attract more people that I know of.

We're going in October, and we plan to come back when Pandora is built at Animal Kingdom - hopefully we'll still be on the younger side of 45 when it's finished!:rotfl:

I haven't noticed the Magic being gone. :confused3

I think that it is gone for some.

I haven't been since new system was started to be tested. I am intrigued to see what will happen If I do go.

I have been staying away from these posts but here goes. Magic isn't gone for me.

So, fp has changed, so what? Remember the days before fast pass? I was a 20 year old kid, stayed off site went memorial weekend, waited hours in line and still loved it. Does fast pass help, yeah but there is nothing like seeing the castle for the first time or my sons eyes when he met Woody or not wanting to let go of Mickey.

Magic is what you make it. People can say magic is gone from anything. Remember, the good ole days weren't always good.

I remember seeing a character and people swarming him before there were designated lines for meet and greet. People are complaining about Anna/Elsa meet and greet but imagine what it would be like if there were no lines.

Really?? Have you taken an exit poll?

We've been going twice a year for the last several years. We've been to WDW twice since the magic bands and FP+, and although there were a few minor glitches, we still enjoy going and plan to continue to do so.

I do feel sorry for the CM's. I wouldn't want to work there right now. I have witnessed several situations where a CM has been "chewed out" for problems which were not of their making, when a polite "Thank You for fixing the problem" would have been much nicer approach.
