I was reading a different thread about being seated at a less than desirable table in a Disneyland restaurant. If you have a PS for a restaurant is it an option to refuse a bad table after you've been escorted to it? I'd rather have to wait a while longer than have to sit near the bathroom or the kitchen where people are constantly coming and going. Or would they just tell you 'sorry, this is the table that's available, if you don't like it you don't have to eat here'? (in nicer Disney-polite language of course ;)).

I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem if you are willing to wait, but I would mention up front that you would like a table ___________ (where ever it is you want or DON'T want to sit) It will allieviate any problems. The fact that you have a PS should not matter. A PS is simply "the next available table for a party your size" not a guarantee of location.

You can request a different table in any restaurant, anywhere. They may or may not be able to move you. You can also request a certain location when you check in, like asking if you could be seated in a booth or by the window. They may tell you it will take longer, but you can decide how long you're willing to wait.

Ya it's not a locked in reservation. You can cancel, change tables and times, whatever. :) we have been seated at BTBBQ and Carnation Cafe and asked to be moved before. CC we were way in the back once at park opening when we wanted to people watch. No biggie they moved us :) same with BTBBQ
Starting out your meal with a sliver of unhappiness can just spoil the whole experience. :goodvibes

Thanks y'all! I didn't know if it's different with Disney or not since there are a few differences between Disney and "the real world". ;)

And boy is it ever true about how something simple can ruin the whole experience. I wish I'd thought of asking for a different table when we ate at the Liberty Tavern in WDW 5 years ago. But it never even crossed my mind that you could refuse where they put you.

We were seated right by the kitchen and the wait staff actually kept walking into my chair! It was definitely not the best character meal I'd ever had. :(

Anytime you are not happy, ask what can be done about it. Everyone, including especially the leads and managers, is focused on making guests happy, and not making guests unhappy. It is not "The Happiest Place On Earth" by accident - just give the folks in charge a chance to deliver by asking.

I had a similar situation (same restaurant but for a better parade view). When the hostess started moving towards a table with a poor vantage point, I asked if we could sit at another table (pointing out an empty table towards the front outside). It was absolutely no problem.

We have had good success in requesting a different table. I use my best manners ;) and let the host/hostess know that we are willing to wait. Keep in mind that they have some limitations with bigger parties but for the most part, they are very accommodating. :thumbsup2

Yes, always ask nicely (not implying you wouldn't, of course). I was a hostess at Rainforest Cafe (at a non-Disney location waaaay back in the day) and while of course I always helped a guest no matter how rude they were, I'd always try harder for those that asked me nicely versus being all snotty about it. If they can move you they'll do it, but it could involve an extra wait.

We have done it a few times at Cafe Orleans with no problem at all! (except now we have learned our lesson and request the tables where we like to sit outside before we even get to that point lol :)

Care to share your requested spot with a DLR newbie?

Cafe Orleans is on our list :)

Thanks!
