PSP 3000 deals?

I am considering the PSP 3000 for my DS12 for his big Christmas gift. I have seen a bundle that comes with Madden 11 for $169 (regular price).

Any idea if there will be better deals between now and Christmas? Have you heard anything about PSP 3000 deals this year, or remember any from last year?

I'd be interested in this too, as I am planning on buying one for my ds12 to replace his nintendo ds. He loves his ds and takes great care of it, but it is several years old and some of the buttons do not work right.

I was also looking at the madden bundle and wondering if that was the best deal out there for the holidays.

You certainly couldn't go wrong with the Madden bundle, but you might want to check (without ruining the surprise, of course) to see if he'd be interested in "Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep." It's an RPG/Fantasy game that takes place in the worlds of all your favorite Disney movies It's rated "Everyone (10+)," so it would most likely be age-appropriate for them as well. It's also available as part of a bundle pack. Either way, I'm sure he'll be ecstatic!

As far as pricing goes, the bundles in general are an excellent value. I work at a company that's affiliated with Sony, and while I don't have any exact figures just yet, it's probably safe to say there will be some impressive sales the day after Thanksgiving. I'll try to post again if I get any more information. I hope that helps!

I bought DS 14 the PSP3000 last year (he was 13). I have to say the bundle is definitely the way to go. I got mine thru Best Buy with a coupon (yes, they'll apply coupons to this) and got the Rock Band bundle for $149 (originally $199). Even without a coupon the bundle is definitely the way to go.

You will absolutely need a memory stick (last year about $40 regular price for 4 GB but you can probably find one for less on sale) with the PSP 3000. You will need this to save game progress and to download games off the internet.

There are lots of movies to be had for the PSP which we love. They're a cheap stocking stuffer (I've gotten them for about $6 on sale )

You will find that most of the games for PSP are T or M. It's the nature of the Sony platform, but there is a much much much better selection of games out there on the internet than you will find in the stores such as Target, Walmart or Best Buy, but IMO Best Buy has the best selection of a B&M store. Amazon in particular has a good selection of E games. I just got Atari Arcade for $10.

A few other games you might want to check out are the LocoRoco series or the Patapon series. They're both rated "E for Everyone" and they received very high marks across various gaming sites. The same is true for Little Big Planet. Just trying to give you some ideas for what to check out next

Also, you might want to check around the boards for Black Friday prices... I've heard rumors that you'll be able to get a great deal on PSP bundles. Hope that helps!

Target has a black friday bundle for 127,so does radio shack and sears for 129.99.Same bundle at all 3 places.It has psp 3000,little big planet game(rated E),Karate Kid movie(umd)and 1 gb memory stick.

There is also a deal going on right now for the PSPgo on Black Friday. You get the PSPgo system along with three games, Little Big Planet (Everyone), SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 (Teen), and Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters (Everyone 10+) for $149.99. Obviously, you would need to decide if SOCOM is an appropriate title, but it's still worth considering. Hope that helps, and happy bargain hunting.
