please keep in mind that no one wants your used thong underwear. :scared1:

I wouldn't say that NO ONE wants it, maybe just not charitable organizations.;)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I stand corrected. Let me clarify - I don't want to handle your used thong underwear as I'm organizing the clothes in the donation bin. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff people feel compelled to "donate."

sorry...wrong needy person bin:blush:

For some reason, it seems like when a lot of people donate clothes, they donate things that should really go in the trash (underwear, stained/ripped clothes, etc). I'd be embarassed to donate stuff like that.

sell them on ebay, make more money for your organization

not to mention any women's shoes..see if you can talk someone into modeling them but just the foot down..get more money that way:rotfl::cheer2:

My aunt used to volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul thrift store and they used to dispose of any underwear, socks or shoes that were donated. They would wear gloves to dipose of those items. She also said that often clothes in really bad condition was also donated.

Also please refrain from donating items that have holes in them and non-cleanable stains. If you wouldn't pass them along to someone in your family, then just trash them! I hate trying something on and falling in love with it, just to find out that it has a big non-repairable rip in it. Come on People!!!:headache:

:lmao: I made the mistake of looking for softball socks on ebay for my dd.:eek: I think I have led a sheltered life because I couldn't believe what people were selling(and buying!!)

So many people donate their trash, it's disgusting they dont think about the volunteers that have to sort through that stuff!

Speak for yourself. I hear that stuff is very popular in Japan.

:eek: EW ew EW ew EW ew!!!

But still a lil' bit of :laughing: too ;)

ds outgrows stuff so fast some of it's barely worn, BUT i have to tell him time and time again that no matter how good the condition of the underclothing or socks, despite the fact that 'yes, it's still useable' it is not something we put into the bag of stuff that gets passed on to friends or charity (he realy means well).

this is a good opportunity to make a suggestion though-if your pet charity (or any local charity) is having a clothing drive and you're inclined to spend a few dollars give them a call and ask them if they will take new, packaged undergarments or socks-there's a drive here each winter to get warm hats, coats and gloves for the homeless population and i called last year to ask if i could include some packs of new thermal socks a local store was having a killer sale on; the person was thrilled at the offer. she said they purposely don't solicit those items because they are afraid of getting used trashy items but they definatly have a need for them.
